and recording interface of CUCM

• SPANless is supported by CUCM 6.0 and higher

• SPANless requires 3rd generation phones

– 7906G, 7911G, 7921G with Aug 2008 maintenance update, 7925G, 7931G, 7941G, 7941G-GE, 7942G, 7945G, 7961G, 7961G-GE, 7962G, 7965G, 7970G, 7971G-GE, 7975G, and IP Communicator 7.0(1) (and later).

• Two recording modes are available with CUCM interface:• Automatic recording: Records all calls on line appearance.

Invoked by CUCM.• Selective recording: Allows user to record ad-hoc. Also allows

recording server to record based on business rules and events.

• A customer calls in. • The call is routed to an Agent

who answers the call. • Cisco Unified Communications

Manager automatically sends two call setup messages to the Agent device.– 1st call is Agent stream– 2nd call is Customer

• For PSTN recording only GW span works as simple trunk recording

• TAP switches are able to handle high traffic in large architectures with

centralized GW.

• 3rd generation phones only

• New devices 69xx, 89xx, 99xx. 69xx are not supported with

SPANless

• No active-active redundancy

• Interruption in recording if failure happens during the call

• If WAN capacity is limited, redundant recorder can be refused (network

intelligence)
