DESCRIPTION
This is teriffic site for looking into the China Market. I am impressed with the economic engine that is China. I have made multiple trips to China and established multiple contacts there. I am always looking for opportunities to explore further interaction with China based companies or companies that want to work in the greater Asian market.

Cause for Celebration! David Bonderman, TPG Founderon creating Global China Brands…Posted on December 15, 2010 by mbbrandt
Imagine my joy when I saw this article in the WSJ today. The last paragraph echos my
beliefs, and confirms what I have been ‘preaching’ to the PE community in China
(unsuccessfully, so far) for the last 5+ years. See my comment here.
Now, it will be interesting to see who (what fund) actually does this successfully, and
watch history, and a new PE model, being created at the same time.

About mbbrandt
Creating powerful and highly profitable China based global brands is my focus
and passion. Few companies in the world can compete with a properly
structured, China based company. The problem is – for a number of reasons –
that very few China based companies are structured to compete on the global
stage, much less to become global leaders. Today, with the growth in Private
Equity in China, the elements necessary to create new China based, leading
global businesses, and record value in the process, are in place. The “missing
link” is a qualified body of people committed to the process. I hope this site will
begin to build and fortify such a community, and that many globally dominant,
China based firms will be built as a result. – Mr. Brandt, 48, lives full time in
China, and beginning in 1990 has assisted multiple Western and Chinese owned
companies in the process of successfully penetrating new markets, securing
highly strategic alliances, dramatically increasing margins and exponentially
increasing revenues and earnings in the process.

What is the thinking behind “to crowded field” . That’s the nature of the free
market.
Sounds like folks are still thinking they can set up “trade ports” as if it were the
age of sailing ships still and the western powers could still milk the China market.
What would happen if a company decided to realy understand the culture and
place people in country who had been working with companies for a period of
time and knew the issues and strenghts of those companies.
