Project Team
Work:SPACE was begun in 2014 by a group of friends that met in an academic atmosphere. They found a kinship in their passion for programming and database design. Since its creation, the main goal at Work:SPACE has been providing personnel systems that are reliable, secure, accurate, and easy to use. We strive to increase business productivity through our user friendly systems and their design.
Mission Statement
Global Corp. has a deprecated system that needs upgrading for the following reasons: The current system is difficult to navigate for users thus
causing a loss in productivity resulting in wasted employee hours.
There is currently no way for convenient communication between managers, administrators, and employees.
The current system has a lack of security between users.
The Problem
Our recommendation for Global Corp. is to take action in upgrading their current system with ours as soon as possible. Global Corp is at risk of fraud and loss of data with their current system.
Work:SPACE will increase security, efficiency, accuracy, and reliability. All with a simple and easy to use user interface.
The Solution
Languages used:
C#, ASP.net, and HTMLWhy?
Easy to customize to client needs System is web based
Platform: Windows 8
Database generation used: MicroSoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 for .NET Framework
We chose this database because it was well suited for this project. We only needed a small amount of storage space to demonstrate the system operation.

Lessons Learned
Problems encountered while building the system: Connecting the database to visual studios Compatibility issues
How were the problems solved? Tried using SQL Lite Tried using MySQL Finally moved on to MySQL Compact database
What worked well Building a compact database within Visual Studios 2008
What we highly recommend Make sure you use appropriate hardware to meet the system requirements
Where do we go from here?
Add labor forecast to determine how many employees will be needed for each shift.
Multiple banner support to allow users to view other businesses within the company.
Take over the world!
