TAKE THE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM

Bombastic Plastix™ Current Synopsis

By now everybody in the world knows that discarded plastic shopping bags are a huge problem. It is an even worse problem in the developing world. When you add a remote location the problem becomes even worse because of the cost associated with moving the material to an industrial recycling center. What we have done at Bombastic Plastix™ is create a solution to the problem of how to collect and recycle plastic bags that makes economic sense for a remote island like Bali. We take the solution to the problem and not the problem to the solution.

Bombastic Plastix was started almost 6 years ago in May of 2007 and we have come a long way. We have become intimately familiar with plastic bag materials and by process of experimentation have found methods to produce sheets of a strong sewable material that may be crafted into all types of products. We have also found ways to apply designs and textures to our material utilizing CNC computer cutters and silk screen technology that give us the ability to make custom designs with consistent results from the random plastic materials we must deal with. Nobody knows more about short process polyethylene film recycling in the field than Bombastic. We have developed a supply chain that fits the challenges of the plastic problem and works financially for all those involved from the poor farmer who needs additional income through to our customers that need an affordable solution for their green production needs and for us to turn a profit in the process. We have removed hundreds of thousands if not millions of plastic bags from the environment in Bali. Lots of folks think we have done a pretty darn good job.We have an actual global brand and you never know where you might find our products: from Singapore to LA to South Africa and everywhere between we have received emails praising our work and products. I like to say we are the biggest little company in Bali.

After over five years we find ourselves in what some call the “No Man’s Land” of our business development. Demand has outstripped capacity and our present capacity doesn’t allow us to develop capital fast enough to expand production. We have funded the entire enterprise out of of our own pockets with a total of about $35K USD. We have been looking for roughly that amount again to increase our production to satisfy present customer demand.

The money would be used for the following purposes:

1. Purchase several new larger industrial grade platen heat presses from China and import them to Bali. I have already been to China and tested the machines. They are vastly more efficient than the machines available in Indonesia and do a beautiful job of heat laminating our plastic layups.

2. Secure a larger factory space with 3 phase electricity where we may operate these machines and properly outfit that space.

3. Get some much needed process materials such as teflon sheets and textured substrates.4. Purchase a large commercial duty washing machine to bring our materials washing in-house and greatly reduce our

expenditures using subcontractors to clean our plastic.5. Give us operating capital to produce inventory for immediate sale so we may shorten our sales cycle, address

current demand shortfalls thereby increasing revenues. The new factory and larger machines will enable us to expand production by as much as a factor of 10. Production that presently requires 30 working days may be reduced to as little as 3-5 days with higher quality and more consistent results. Our reject rate will plummet increasing profit. The addition of in-house washing capabilities will reduce an extremely expensive part of the process for which we must use outside subcontractors also increasing profit. The imported reusable substrate material will greatly reduce the collateral waste from our own process and make us even greener and also increase profit. Our largest customer has just come on board with an $8K USD contribution for new machines to help guarantee their future supply of Bombastic material. I think that speaks volumes about our credibility. Our customers, the people that know us best, are backing Bombastic with investment. Not many companies can say that. And after all we have been through developing this extremely challenging company believe me - we are grateful.

We need to just a bit more investment to accomplish the other 3 items on the list above. So attached is a financial sketch of where we have been and we believe we could go. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you very much for your interest in Bombastic Plastix™.Sincerely,Sam Miller

FAQ● Founded - June 2007

● Owners - Sam Miller and Niluh Indrawati● Business Overview- We make a material from discarded polyethylene shopping bags and sew that material into

fashion accessories. We call our process “Supercycling™” because our plastic material is made from local plastic by local labor adding value at the source of the problem not at the end of a long haul transport supply chain used by traditional recyclers.

● Market Range- We sell globally on 5 continents Asia,Australia,South America,North America and Europe.● Annual Sales- $50,000-$70,000 USD● Number of Employees 6 Full Time, 4 Part Time and 20 subcontractors for sewing .● Funding- Approximately $35,000 over a 5 year period from 3 sources- $15,000 USD in Loans (Fully Repaid)

$10,000 in Personal Savings and $10,000 from Freelance Work not associated with Bombastic.● Origination of the Idea- We saw a video on Youtube of some people making material from plastic bags with an

ordinary clothes iron and we just improved upon that basic concept with bigger machines and refined processes.● Social Impact- Our core staff of Balinese women we have trained and given a better paying and more interesting

jobs than as a domestic servant or working in the rice fields. We work with our freelance tailors and supply them not only with orders but at times sewing machines so they may work independently. In at least one example we took a tailor that was making $3 USD a day as a production worker at a small factory and he is now making as much as $700 USD a month working at home.

● Environmental Impact-We have recycled hundreds of thousands of discarded plastic shopping bags littering the landscape in Bali. We have done community education ,speaking in schools and have implemented a recycle for cash program in the village where our factory is located. We have near term plans to begin identification and cleanup of problem sites holding “bad plastic”in watershed areas and beaches where it is most likely to enter the waterways and ultimately the ocean where it does the most harm.

● Business Model- We are a attempting to make a “Reasonable Profit” company that works well in the challenging times we find ourselves. Our business DNA has stewardship of the community and environment hard coded into it. We are for the most part self-funding. When funding is dependent upon goodwill you are always at risk that goodwill disappearing or having to spend greater resources on fundraising and not on the problem at hand. We attempting to circumvent this limitation by using a “for profit” model.
