TIP #1: START WITH THE RIGHT SIZE

• Start with an image that is a good resolution match.

• Do not simply resize larger the thumbnails from image search results or other small images.

Avoid Pixelation!

TIP #1: START WITH THE RIGHT SIZE

Trick for estimating the minimum-sized image you need:

1. Draw a rectangle the size desired.2. Right-click on the rectangle and select

Format Shape.3. Click on Size.4. Note the height and width

measurements in inches.5. Multiply the measurements by 110 for the

pixel dimensions of the shape.6. List width first.

Example: Height = 4.58” & Width = 2.58”Pixel Dimensions = 284 x 504

TIP #4: COMPRESS IMAGES

• File sizes get large quickly when inserting images.• Compress images to reduce file sizes.• Click once on any image to select it.• Click on the Format tab and then select the Compress

Pictures tool.

• Be aware that compression may visibly affect image quality.• Save different versions

of your presentation to test the quality.

TIP #4: COMPRESS IMAGES

• Wait to compress until your presentation is done (you no longer need to adjust picture sizes & croppings.

• Uncheck the box next to “Apply only to this picture” to compress all images in the presentation.

• Check the box next to “Delete cropped areas of pictures” to discard cropped image content.• Be aware that you will not be

able to retrieve the deleted content later.
