Becoming An Expat In Sardinia

Mediterranean living is idyllic. Moving to Sardinia is a perfect way to experience it given the ambiance

of the island.

Resting between some of the most provincial and renowned countries, Sardinia is a majestically

beautiful haven in the Mediterranean Sea. Located almost directly between Spain and Italy, Sardinia

is the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and along with beauty, maintains a strong

sense of culture. The kind people and remarkable ambiance make this Island a top relocation choice.

Although moving half way across the world can be a scary venture, moving to Sardinia can be a

blessing in disguise. Because Sardinians are naturally kind and hospitable, they are kind to all

strangers and have a long established sense of community. One of the most notable differences in

Sardinian life will be their leisurely pace. Much like typical Island life, time in Sardinia seems to creep.

Locals and tourists take their time, moving at their own will and pace. When you arrive and begin your

life in Sardinia, it will not be uncommon to have people late for meetings or school, and even less

common for someone of authority to complain about it.

Preparing for your move to Sardinia can be beneficial in making you feel at home when you arrive.

Sardinians do not speak only Italian, but often have their own Sardinian dialects that may differ from

family to family. One of their primary languages, Sardinian, is a mix between Spanish and

Portuguese, differing greatly from Italian. While some locals know English, many speak Sardinian

solely, oftentimes making it difficult to communicate. Most Sardinians don't mind, though, because of

their inherently laid back, friendly nature.

Common jobs in Sardinia include teaching, technology, and the tourism sector. With several public

high schools and an ample amount of residents wanting to learn the English language, there is almost

always a job in the teaching field. Depending on where in Sardinia you are located, on the Northern

Islands or deep within the Island, jobs will vary. Tourism is popular only on the north shore and even

there, many workers are native and do not speak English. Several military professions are available

and real estate agents are popular. Famous for its exclusive wine, wineries operate all across the

Island and Sardinia is becoming extraordinarily renowned for their impeccable wines selections.

Maintaining some of the world's most endangered species and thousands of plant and animal types,

Sardinia boasts a diversely beautiful Island environment. This European country brings together the

sense of home and the flavors of Italy for a relocation experience of a lifetime. Long Beach Island Real Estate
