Page 4: Assessment creation

ii) Add each individual skill one by one to tailor a particular assessment . To do this simply type the name of the required skill in the “Select Skill” area & then select the from the dropdown that appears.

Page 5: Assessment creation

This is how the assessment creation page will look once you have added the required skills. You can enter your assessment’s name in the “Assessment Name” textbox.Click on “Clear” if you want to clear the list of populated skills & start afresh.

Page 6: Assessment creation

Your assessment can be divided into various sections. you can group different skills under different sections and/or merge them under the same section by grouping them under the same section name.Section names can be changed by double-clicking on the default section names appearing under the “Section Name” column .

Page 7: Assessment creation

The “Skill Name” column displays the all the skills that have been added to the assessment. The Source column tells you whethera particular skill has been picked from Mettl’s question banks or whether it is a Custom question bank i.e a bank residing in your own account.“Level” displays the difficulty level. You can choose between easy, medium and difficult levels. Coupled with skills, you can customise the difficulty of a test by having different proportions of easy, medium and difficult questions of a particular skill.

Page 8: Assessment creation

The “Question Type” column displays the type of questions to be included in your assessment. You can select questions among multiple choice (MCQ), fill in the blanks (FITB), true / false (T/F), multiple correct answers (MCA), Coding simulators (Code), Data entry simulators (DES).

Page 9: Assessment creation

“Q#” display the number of questions to be included from a particular skill. While there is a recommendation, you can override it and select more or less questions depending upon your practical requirements by double-clicking on the number displayed in the column & then selecting the number of questions from the dropdown that appears.

Page 10: Assessment creation

The duration column will display the duration in which the questions need to be answered.

Page 11: Assessment creation

The IsTimed column lets you specify choose between imposing individual time limits on the sections or keeping them untimed .The value YES/NO for every skill/section in the “Is Timed” column represents if that section is individually timed or not. An individually timed section means that questions from that particular section would be active for attempting only for the duration mentioned in the “Duration” column for that skill. Once this duration expires the control would automatically move to the next section and you will not be able to re-visit the skill/section whose duration has expired. In case of sections that include more 2 or more skills, the total duration of the section would be the sum of the duration of all the component skills. If you select NO in the “IS Timed” column it means that the section is not timed individually and the questions for that section are active for the entire duration of the assessment and the candidate can keep moving between questions from various sections.Your assessment may consist of all timed sections or all untimed sections or a mixture of timed as well as untimed sections.
