  • 1. Agenda: April 17/18th, 20131) Warm-up (10 min)2) Create CHONPS foldable (10 min)3) Set up notebook (5 min)4) C-Notes: Introduction to Macromolecules (20min)5) Exit slip (5 min)

2. Warm-upIn your notebook: List what you already know aboutcarbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids (where are they found? What do they look like? Why are they important?) Discuss with your group. Carbs: Lipids:Proteins:Nucleic Acids:You will receive a stamp at the end of this warm-up. 3. FoldableCreate a 6-layer foldable and label the 6 sections:Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen,Phosphorus, and Sulfur. These are the 6 mostcommon elements in organic chemistry. Duringthe notes you will write in which macromoleculeseach are found. 4. Set up C- NotesTopic: Introduction to MacromoleculesObjective: Students know the characteristics ofeach of the 4 macromolecules 5. Copy all notes in green into your notes 6. Exit Slip Tear out a sheet of paper and list 3 things youlearned today. Turn in your sheet to the bucketOn Friday you will have a lab where you will test whether the 4 macromolecules are present in foods.
