What is Android

• Mobile operating system • Acquired by Google in 2005

• First phone was the T-Mobile G1 in Oct 2008

• Why should you care • People want it!

• Shipments are up 1300% since last year

• 350,000 new activations a day

• Apps in market has tripled in 9 months – 150k

• New Tablets; Galaxy Tab, Xoom, Viewpad, etc..

Recommendations

• Carrier first • If you have no signal it doesn’t work!

• Keyboard

• Form Factor • Basically all are black slabs

• Screen • 4.3” seems to be the new standard

• 3G / 4G
