… and a quick quote

“…This is a world that knows how to organize itself withoutcommand and control or charisma. Everywhere, life self-organizes as networks of interdependent relationships.

When individuals discover a common interest or passion, they organize themselves and figure out how to make things happen.

Self-organizing evokes creativity and results, creating strong, adaptive systems. Surprising new strengths and capacities emerge from new relationships…”

Lots of activity and tools, but…

• Multiple connection points and activities• Continuous re-invention of different wheels (technology solutions)• Lots of time spent fiddling with all this stuff• Infinitely expandable, but not coherently• Not joined up:

• logistically• with the bigger picture in mind

• Data going everywhere that could be used to achieve something bigger

So, in review

• Software is not a ‘solution’, it’s a tool to realise the patterns we need

• Design and plan the model before going near ‘technology’ • centrally and openly to wider stakeholders

• Model needs to afford multiplicity and centricity, publicity and privacy

• Facilitation is required and should be taken seriously from design phase• physical and virtual, marketing and community building

• ROI – big question – must generate results:• quantitative, qualitative• actual cash opportunities for actors in system• potential tie-ins with health/activity targets
