Smartphone sales in India jump over 200% in Q1 2014: CMR

4.5 million smartphones were shipped in India, registering a 219.4% growth year-on-year (YoY) and a 1.9% growth from the previous quarter – CMR130 Million Mobile Internet Users27 Million Rural Mobile Internet Users!In Rural India, 70% of the active internet users also access internet usingmobile phones, while 32% use internet only through mobile.

Only 4 percent Indians have Smart phones, yet ranks 5th in the World! India is considered to be one of the top ranking countries across Appstores such as Apple store, Google Play(Rank 3), Nokia (Rank 1), Slideme(Rank 1), and Mobango(Rank 1).
