Add schema markup to your

site using Google Tag Manager

The importance of schema.org has significantly

grown in the SEO world since its introduction in

2011.

Here are the step by step guide to add schema tag

1First you have to start with the JSON-LD markup code. If you don’t have any knowledge about it then don’t worry there are lots of tool available online. Here is a screenshot of JSON-LD schema generator tool is attached.

2Now you have login into Google Tag Manager and need to Create a new custom HTML tag. See the below attached screenshots.

3Now paste that JSON-LD markup

code into the Custom HTML box of

Google Tag Manager.

4Click the “Save” button located at top right hand corner of your screen. (A pop-up will appear, on that pop-up click on “Save Tag” button.)

5Now you have create new trigger for your HTML tag to fire on. Remember to select “Page View” trigger from the given list. See the below attached screenshots.

6Now you have to select “All Page Views” trigger and then click Save button.

Configure your Trigger

7Now open your Custom HTML tag in which you have Schema Markup code, just below an option to select Trigger is available select your “Page View” trigger and then click on the save button.

8Click on the red “Publish” button located at top right hand corner.

Click Publish

9Now you have to visit Google’s Structured Data Testing Tool and enter the url of your link to validate the markup code.

Schema.org is a collection of schemas for

structured data markup (sometimes called

“schema markup”) that helps search engines

better understand content on websites.

search results.
