Accessing Apple Mac computers A course providing an overview of the accessibility features in Mac OSX software. Course description Recent versions of Mac OSX include both magnification and screen reading software. These features are built into the operating system, and are effectively free with every new Mac. This practical, one-day workshop will show how to use the Zoom magnification and Voice Over screen reader built in to OSX Leopard. All delegates receive a training guide, and will use a Mac computer provided by Apple. Learning objectives Attending this course will enable you to: Use a Mac without using the mouse. Use the Zoom utility to provide magnification access Use the Voice Over utility to provide speech access Use Voice Over on the Internet (Safari) and for email (Mail) Use Zoom and Voice Over with iTunes and the new features in OSX Leopard Who should attend This workshop is aimed at Mac users who are blind or partially sighted. It is also aimed at anyone who assists, teaches or trains computer users who are blind and partially sighted. Knowledge of using an Apple Mac is helpful but not essential to gain the most from the day. Course Information and Cost Prior knowledge required - Basic ICT skills.
