Aims of the ISLE Professionalisation Fair & Seminar
“Sustainable Practices & Innovation”
The “Sustainable Practices & Innovation” professionalization Fair was one of the activities of the WP4 of ISLE network and aimed: • To join the forerunners on SD in professional practice in Life
Sciences from the different European countries. • To exhibit innovative products, systems and services of European
companies, governmental and non-governmental organizations aimed at enhancing SD.
• To contribute to the dialogue clarifying the needs of the labour market on SD competences of our graduates, in the near future, in order to adjust Higher Education programmes.
• The ISLE Fair had 41 stands from 25 different countries
• The total of registered participants on the ISLE Fair & Seminar was 91 from 29 different countries
• The number of registered ISLE’s partners on the ISLE Fair & Seminar was 66, – from 36 ISLE’s partners and – from 28 different countries.
The number of registered participants outside the ISLE’s Consortium was 25 from 7 different countries We estimate that more than 250 people visited the Fair and about 150 people attended the Seminar.

The topics of the Fair stands were: - Education and research in SD (27 stands, 3 outside of consortium) - Innovative Environmental Technologies (energy / water / waste) (2 stands, 1
outside consortium) - Sustainable Agriculture /Forestry (7 stands, 4 outside consortium) - Nature Conservation and Agrotourism & Ecotourism (2 stands, 1 outside
consortium)
3 Institutional stands - ISLE - ISA/UTL, Portugal - INOVISA/Rede INOVAR, Portugal
A “brokerage” session between participants allowed for numerous exchanges and discussions.

Some comments about the Fair and Seminar
• Lower attendance than the expected
• Lower students participation than the expected
• As Vassilis Protonotarios said it was a nice opportunity for ISLE project partners to see what the rest of the partners are up to and learn more about their activities… as well as the round table discussion were really interesting, focused and really close to ISLE project.
