4G University Suite™ is a platform for research and education on LTE and WiMAX,

primarily targeted at universities and research institutions. It is based on the IS-

Wireless' flagship products: LTE PHY Lab™, WiMAX PHY Lab™ and 4G System Lab™. A

selection of these products is complemented with additional material such as programs

for university laboratory classes, courseware for supporting lectures and formulation of

M.Sc. or Ph.D. projects. As such, 4G University Suite™ can be also successfully used by

the training companies willing to provide practical demonstrations to their training

courses.

The three component tools, namely LTE PHY Lab™, WiMAX PHY Lab™ and 4G System

Lab™ are very much complementing each other. LTE PHY Lab™ and WiMAX PHY™ Lab,

acting as link-level simulators, model the downlink and the uplink processing chains of

PHY layer for LTE and WiMAX, respectively. High detail of functional blocks

implementation, reflecting baseband models of base station and mobile station, allows

for great flexibility in educations and R&D. This makes the two tools indispensable for all

students and researchers active in the area of digital signal processing, development of

baseband algorithm and RF processing for LTE and WiMAX.

4G System Lab™ – a system-level simulator, allows to

verify the overall performance of the radio network,

taking into account interference environment and

temporal dynamics of channel and traffic conditions. The

tool models all the events that happen within a radio

network, including terminals mobility, cell reselections,

attach, random access, admission control, handovers,

power control, scheduling and many more. Hence, a vast

area of network planning and optimization problems can

be investigated, from simple coverage and capacity

verifications, through validation of the influence of

chosen radio resource management (RRM) features up

to technology business casing.
