Being apart of the promotion team, my roles and responsibilities are to promote the show using various creative and unique promotion techniques such as a whisper campaign/flash mob etc. I have to work within a given budget and be prompt with work. However, being a choreographer holds different responsibilities such as choreographing a dance to teach to the cast. I have to ensure that the dance is do-able by all different abilities. Then I would have to plan the rehearsals in which to practice the dance. Also I have to be sure that the dance itself looks good and in time and appropriate to the theme and genre. Being an actor has a new set of responsibilities that come with it which are things like showing up to the rehearsals on time, knowing the play and my individual role within it, to develop and perfect the play and have full concentration so I can get the most out of the rehearsals. Who will you be working with? How will you ensure that everyone in your team is working efficiently? Promotion Team: I will be working with the promotion manager in order to be sure that we are both working efficiently; we will equally spread the workload and engage in a lot of communication. Also we will be working with the people that are in charge of our budget so that know what limit we are working with and the ways in which to promote. Choreographer: I will be working closely with my assistant choreographer and I will be making sure that she is working to the best of her ability so that we can get any choreography completed on time. I will also be working with the person in charge of sound so that we can talk and work out the music for each dance. Actor: As an actor, I will be working with the other actors, the director, the tech crew and everyone that is apart of the cast. Also, I will be making sure that everyone knows all of the choreography to a high standard and is ready and confident to perform it. Lastly as an actress, I will be going over my scenes and roles in the performance and make sure that I know them well and I am comfortable performing them. Also, I will warm myself up so that I am prepared for the performance. Describe any contingency plans you have in place to ensure deadlines are met. We have designated the dates in which we will do our different promoting techniques in order to be sure that it will be completed atleast a month before the show so that people have the chance to see what’s happening and ge curious to what it’s about. We need to leave ourselves enough time to do this. We need to: - Make a statement poster that people will remember and notice (give the whisper campaign effect) - Go into assemblies to tell students more about it. - Sell tickets to raise money for it - Create a dance for the flash mob.. - learn my scenes off by heart and the order of them. © Pearson Education Ltd 2008. Describe your role and responsibilities in the performance project.

Well, since I am part of the Promotion Team, a choreographer and an actor I have various roles and responsibilities.

Describe the resources you will be using, indicating their availability.

In order to create the posters and print tickets, we need to use some of the Mac’s software, so we will book a computer free in the DT Club or use it during our lessons. Also, in order to create the dance piece for the flash mob, we need to use the dance studio. So we will have to check the rota with the dance teachers, see what days are free and book them so we can choreograph and rehearse within the space. Also we will need rehearsal space in which to practice the actual mime performance so we will again, have to book a room to do this in.

How will these resources be managed to ensure they are used efficiently?

The promotion team themselves will be responsible for the maintenance of the spaces we use. That means that we will not eat or drink within the places for safety and risk of breakage, we will use the resources usefully and responsibly to get the best experience and produce the best work from them.
