– Stretched Cluster is based on Virtual SAN’s 3 Fault Domain architecture– Functions and managed just like any other Virtual SAN cluster– Witness responsible for quorum and voting mechanism during cluster related failures

– the witness is an ESXi virtual appliance– Witness only stores meta-data, no running VMs
