Cloud Dividend
• Pay only for what you use when you need it:-Bandwidth-Compute-Storage
• Delivered 10~20% in cost savings due to elasticity of cloud offering
Driven by an efficient infrastructure model…

Challenges and Lessons Learnt
• “Pay-as-you-go” is an asset only if strong governance is in place
• Who should be performing this optimization? Developers? Ops? PM’s? What should be the frequency?
• What is the playbook?
o Resizing instances based on demand
o Reviewing storage consumption
o Standard/Reserved Instances
o Shut-down instances when not needed

• Many clients are looking at charge-back models and the ability to track costs at a granular level is critical
o We liberally leverage tags for financial and cost management!
• AWS is constantly enhancing the portfolio of tools
o Instance level billing data
o Trusted Advisor
