I toss a coin twice, what is the probability that I shall get head on both the occasion?

There are two possbility on a coin = either heo ad or a tail.

Head has probability of ½ (because there are two options, and one option out of two has one out of two probability).

To get head again, we need to get the same probability again. Thus probability of two head is ½ * ½ = ¼ answer.


What is the probability that if I draw a card from a card box, it is spade?

There are 52 cards in a card box. There are 13 spades in a card box. Thus the probability of getting a card out of card box is 13/52 or ¼ answer.

(probability = number of expected outcomes of something / total number of outcomes.


What is the probability that if I draw a card from a card box, it is a king?

There are 52 cards in a card box. There are 4 kings in a card box. Thus the probability of getting a card out of card box is 4/52 or 1/13 answer.



What is the probability that if I draw 2 cards from a card box, both are JACKS?

There are 52 cards in a card box. There are 4 JACKS in a card box. Thus the probability of getting a card out of card box is 4/52 or 1/13 answer. Probability that second card is also jack is 3/51 or 1/13 * 3/51 = 1/221 answer.



I throw two dice simultaneously, what is the probabilty that my total score is more than 10?

There are 6 numbers on a dice. I can get score from 0 to 6. the possibility that I get score more than 10 is as under:

6,6 or 6,5 or 5,6. thus there are 3 possibilities. The total number of possibilities are 6^2 = 36

Answer = 3/36 OR 1/12 (answer).

Three dice are thrown simultaneously, what is the probability that I get more than 16 points? One dice contains 6 points. Thus the

probabilities are : 6,6,5, or 6,5,6, or 5,6,6, or 6,6,6

Thus there are only 4 possibilities. The total number of possibilities are 6*6*6 -216

=4/216 or 1/54 (answer.)


Three dice are thrown simultaneously, what is the probability that I get more than 4 points?

Let us find out all the possibilities ,when the total of dice is 4 or less.

These are 1,1,1 or 121, or 2,1,1 or 1,1,2 . Thus there are only 4 possibilities. All other possibilities are 216-4 = 212.

Thus required probability is 212/216 answer.

Let us find out number of 2 digit numbers.

Two : 1. roster or Braces form. Example : A = {1,2,3,} 2. set builder or algebraic form or rule

What is proper subset?

If all the elements of P are also in Q but P is not equal to Q, we can say that P is proper subset of Q. for example,

What is union and intersection in sets?

Union means to unite two sets (to add two sets). Intersection means to find common elements in two sets.

Exmple: A = {1,2,3,} and B= {3,5,7,8,9} AUB is called A union B. = {1,2,3,5,7,8,9} A∩B is called A intersection B. ={3}


If A = {1,2,3,} How many subsets can you make from set A.

There are 3 elements in A, so formulae is 2^n subsets can be made. Thus we can make 2^3 = 8 subsets out of this set.

If A has 32 elements and B has 24 element, and AUB have 40 elements, then how many elements are there in their intersection?

Add 32 and 24, we get 56. however, AUB has only 40, so we have 16 elements in intersection of A and B. answer.
