How-To: Customization – Draft Stages

This tutorial describes creation of custom draft stages. As the document goes on through the review/approval process it advances through several phases or draft stages. By default, the following draft stages are available: Draft, Pending approval, Approved, and Rejected.

Now we will see how to add an additional draft stage in DocPublisher.

1) Click on the ‘Manage draft stages’ link in the Customization area.




2) Add the new draft stage here called ‘Pending QM review’. Note that you can add as many stages as needed (in which case each value should be in its own line).

3) Describe the workflow guidelines here (which will be presented to a user when routing a document for review/approval). Click OK to save the new stage.




4) Now, when a new document is being routed for review/approval, the user can also save the document in the custom draft stage we just created.




5) In addition, note that all documents pending in the newly defined draft stage also appear in the ‘Drafts by stage’ view.


What we have done:

We created a new draft stage.

We created a new document and set it to the newly created stage in the review/approval process.

We viewed all documents pending in the newly created draft stage.
