Cooling fans are moving air and thus creating noise

•Laser phosphor projectors produce less heat than lamp based projectors, but still need tobe cooled

•Careful design of the projector and choice of fans determine the produced noise

•More brightness = more heat

Not only the dB value is important for a projector

•50dB can be a quiet office or a normal conversation annoying, unwanted pitches of sounds = noise

Noise is lower if you are far away from the projector

•-6dB if distance to projector doubles

dBA = A-weighting to compensate for the variable frequency sensitivity of humans
