CCS OverviewCCS Overview

What is Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS)?

WES Absorber Technology

Page 7: 11 10-20 Maui county council update

Current CCS Commercial Situation

Current CCS solventtechnology iscommercially

uneconomic due to:

Large equipment size.High parasitic energy demands.High capital and operating cost.

New technologies must be developed in order to significantly reduce capital and operational costs of CCS.

Capture costs represent 70-90% of CCS costs.

WES Absorber Froth Column

Target components captured inside micro-froth matrix.

Froth matrix intensifies mass transfer.

Micro droplets formed by bursting bubbles further increase mass transfer performance.

Advanced Gas Absorption Technology

Up to 8x reduction in theoretical absorption stages enables 50% reduction in absorber height.

Allows operation with precipitating solvents which significantly increases solvent loading.

Dramatically shifts the economics of CCS: major decrease in capital and operating costs.

Current projections indicate this will reduce the size and cost, CAPEX, of the hardware by 30% or more and will reduce OPEX by 30%.
