BACKGROUND

Home for nearly 100,000 people.

Existing more than 50 years yet

no legalization and no

recognition.

No basic facilities.

Lack of resources and

opportunities leads to unlawful

activities

SITUATION AT START

Parents reluctant to send

Irregularity of children on sessions. 35% children had up to 50% attendance

10% girls on sessions

25% of children going to school.

After 7 years of working in the community

Increased demand of the programme in the community.

Regularity increased 75% children have up to 50% attendance.

Percentage of girls in the programme increased from 15% to 43% .

94% children in the programme are going to school.

Maximum Youth leaders & only community which has girl youth leaders.

Youths assist in programme and mobilize people

Community initiatives by peers (Tuitions, water issue, Toilet facility and cleanliness

drive)

After 7 years of working in the community

Increased involvement of parents in the programme

Approx 1000 people participate in annual community open tournament.

Decreased regional divide.

Community participates in organizing open tournaments (both financial & human)

More focused on their carrier/livelihood.

Some will soon start their own initiatives.
