INTRODUCTION “WAGERING”• The objetive of the sportbook is to earn a profit from the processing of sports wagers.

• This is accomplished by charging a percentage (%), called “THE JUICE” on each transaction/line/wager/bet.THE JUICE: is basically a percentage (10%) that the sportsbook charges for the service we provide.

• Every sporting event involving teams consist of two sides: “THE FAVORITE” and “THE UNDERDOG /DOG”.

-”THE FAVORITE” is the team most likely to win.-You would bet more to win less.

-”THE UNDERDOG/DOG” is the team most likely to loss, less expected to win the event. You would betless to win more.

SPORTSBOOK

THE FAVORITE THE UNDERDOG/DOG

• What the sportsbook does is to balance the amount of the wagers on each side by Makingthe underdog and the favorite equally atractive. By leveling the fields between the twoteams, we can achieve and equal volume of action (Wagers) on both sides so that we canuse the money that we take from the losing side to cover the payouts that we must make tothe players who wagered on the winning side (Won their Bets).

• It´s the most common bet, to predict wich team will win in the: Money line, Spread and Total.

• some rules we must know:

– The costumer can't change his bet after confirmed.

– The costumer can't bet more over his balance.

– The customer can buy points to improve his bet in football and basketball.

– If the final result in a game, the score it's a push, the money risking, its get back to the account customer. (No Action on the play)

– Each time the customer decides to buy 1 point to improve your game (football-basketball), usually the sportsbook increase the juice by 10%.

When betting on this line, either (Favorite / Dog).

markers obtained from each team are added to

obtain a TOTAL.

To declare a bet as the winner, the

customer has two options to choose:

1. Over the total score of the game

2. Under the total score of the game.

• These types of lines are based on a $100 dollar .-They reflect the amount of money that a player must lay (Risk) in order to win $100. example: The Seatle Mariners have (-190) and Baltimore Orioles (+165) this means Seatle Mariners are fovored over the Baltimore Orioles. If a player wants to wager on Seatle: he must risk $190 (90% Juice) for every $100 he wants to win.

MONEY LINE (baseball)

Examples To win $ 100:

-125 ………Risk 125$ to win 100$

+150 ……...Risk 100$ to win 150$

-175 ……….Risk 175$ to win 100$

+200 ………Risk 100$ to win 200$

-270 ……….Risk 270$ to win 100$

+100 ………Risk 100$ to win 100$

-115 ………..Risk 57.5$ to win 50$

• In case where both lines are negative: Pittsburg Pirates (-108) Colorado Rockies (-102), the true favorite is the higher of the negative numbers.

• In case where both money lines/odds are the same number, there is no favorite.- If a costumer ask for the line on this particular game, you would read it as follow: “NY -Mets at Pittsburg Pirates (-110) each way”.

• When betting on the Money Line in baseball what pitcher options does the bettor have?

• Listed (Both listed pitchers must start the game.)

• Action (no matter who pitcher opens the game.)

• Home (The pitcher listed as house should open the game.)

• Visitor (The pitcher listed as visitor must open the game.)

Example 1: Green Bay Packers (+6 -110)

Seatle Seahawks (-6 -110)

This means Seatle Seahawks are fovored over Green Bay Packers. We given the Green Bay Packers a

6 point advantage in order to level the field between the two teams. If the final score is:

*Green Bay: 24

*Seattle : 27

• In Football & Basketball, the most popular wager type is te point spread rather than the money line.

• A point spread is a way of leveling the fields by taking points away from the favorite and giving points to the underdog. This is why favorites have negative point spreads and the underdog have positive point spread.

POINT SPREAD and TOTAL:

• when a gambler decides to play only the first half of the game of baseball. can bet on the 4 options pitchers on the money line.

• when a gambler decides to play only the second half of the game of baseball. can bet only pitchers listed.

• But when a gambler decides to play in the total and run line, baseball game. the system automatically dials: listed pitchers.

• How the run lines work? Its mean that the favorite (-) needs to cover the spread by 2 runs in a example like this; (-1 ½) (+1 ½)

• When wagering on money line its official? After the 5th inning or 4 ½ if the home team is winning.

• When wagering on the total, RL, its official after? After the 9th inn or 8 ½ inn if the home team is winning.

• When wagering on the 1Half only its official ? First 5 full inn are played. (Short Game)

• When do the wager lines come up for the second half? Start at the top of the 6th inn (includes extra inn)

• What is a double header? Its when the same teams play twice on the same day. (Usually the first at morning an the second at evennig.- on this case sometimes the pitchers change.)

Seattle Seahawks won the game by 3 points,

because they started the game with a spread of (-6)

Example 2: Washington Redskins (+6 -110)

New York Jets (-6 -110)

This means New York Jets are fovored over Washington Redskins. We given the Washington Redskins

a 6 point advantage in order to level the field between the two teams. If the final score is:

*Washington: 21

*New York : 27In this case the game is a “PUSH”, because NY started the game by (-6) points,

Making the final score as 21/21 = TIE

The money is returned to the players account, It's consider “NO ACTION”

Example 3: Dallas Cowboys (+6 -110)

San Francisco 49ers (-6 -110)

This means San Francisco 49ers are fovored over Dallas Cowboys. We given the Dallas Cowboys a 6

point advantage in order to level the field between the two teams. If the final score is:

*Dallas Cowboys: 27

*San Francisco : 24Dallas Cowboys won the game by 9 points,

because they started the game with a spread of (+6)

• Buying points can only be done “Football & Basketball” for “Spreads & Totals”, not for: *Half Times *quarter *Periods

• when you buy points on the total you have two options:

– 1. Over the total score of the game.

– 2. Under the total score of the game.

• How to buy points? Options are only available for point spreads and totals; all costumer can buy up to 2 points only divided in halves. Price of each half will depend on the line; its normally 10%, 15% or more depending on the sport.- for football NFL when buying on and off 7 will charge 15%. It is possible to buy points on NFL when the line is on 3 (Extra Juice).

PARLEYS• Is a series of straight bets linked together, so that a player risk less, to win more.

• In order to win a parlay, all the picks must be winers or pushed, if a player has one or more losing picks *the entire parlay is a loss wager.

• If one of the picks is a push and all the others are winners, the parlay reverts down to the next lowest parlay and its payout. Example: 4-team parlay with 3 winners & a Push will reverts down to 3-team parlay.

• If there is a 1 push & 1 win (2-team parlay), the parlay will revert to a straight bet.

• If every pick in a parlay is a push, the entire parlay will be “NO ACTION”.

• Players may parlayed *Football *Basketball *Hockey *Baseball
