Vasily Abramov

We live in a very beautiful place. Our region is rich in rivers and lakes. It is not surprising that the most popular sport is rowing and conoeing.

I would like to tell you about my grandfather – Vasily Abramov, a master of sport.He was born in 1956 in Kasimov. At the age of 14 he got into sport. His favourite sport was rowing.

He tapered with Sergey Antipov and Vitaly Kochetkov, silver medalists of World championship. They were friends.

In 1974 my grandfather took part in the race in Hungary and won the gold medal.

He is in retirement now and we spend our leisure together. When we go for a walk to a river he always tells me about rowing, competitions and his youth.
