About the AuthorMy name is Matthew Kahl. I am a mathematics major and computer science minor. I hope to help high school students develop their writing skills along with their critical thinking skills regarding computers and mathematics.

I grew up in Clinton Twp., MI and went to Chippewa Valley High School. Once attending Grand Valley State University, I was turned on to the sport of ultimate frisbee. This was my motivation for creating this tutorial.

Strategies

• Offensive Strategy– A “stack” is commonly used where

offensive players line up in a vertical formation and each player makes a cut toward either side of the stack in an attempt to lose a defender

– The horizontal stack is used as well, which is similar to the stack but formed horizontally.QuitQuit

Throwing the Frisbee

• 4 common throws– Backhand: Traditional throw, released

with the back of your hand to your target

– Overhand: Similar to backhand, but the frisbee is inverted

– Chicken Wing: Has a hitch in the throw and frisbee is thrown with thumb

– Sidearm: Also referred as “forehand”, thrown with two fingersQuitQuit
