THE IRTYSH

The Irtysh is one of the biggest rivers in our country. It flows 1174km across the Omsk region

It begins on the border of Mongolia and China. It is called the Black Irtysh there.

The river plays a very important role in the life of Omsk.

Every day it conveys timber, oil, grain, construction materials and other goods.

It is one of the busiest waterways in Siberia.

Factories and plants in our city, as well as the nearest farms , use the water of the Irtysh river.

There are some beautiful buildings on the banks of the river.

In summer people can swim in it or sunbathe on its shores.

They also like to walk along the renovated Irtysh embankment

Unfortunately, the river is very polluted. So we should think about saving it as one of the symbols of our city.
