St George’s Park-St George’s Park is the English Football Association’s National Football Centre (NFC)-The 330 acre site in Staffordshire was opened by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the 9th October 2012.

HISTORY OF ST GEORGE’S PARK

-Originally owned by the Berkeley family, St George’s Park used to be part of Needwood forest, a hunting ground developed by the Berkeley family in the 13th Century. -After becoming property of the crown, the estate once again became privately owned in the 1700’s. -It was then passed onto the Bass family in 1850. After the death of Sir William Bass in 1952, the estate was sold off and the Bass Country House demolished.
