The dominant reading that is created in this image is that men are powerful. Through the use of suits and the body language that is given off from the three men. The male in the grey suit is slouching, and has a smug look on his face which indicates to the viewer that he feels he is the most dominant figure in the room and that the three women should feel superior to him. Also, the fact that all the women are standing up and his is sitting down. Reiterates the fact that he feels he is the best, and in a stereotypical world, men would usually allow women to sit down as that is polite. Another representation that is given off is that he has a sidekick, so he has the power to make someone work for him even though they don’t really want to. Which is given off from the other male sitting on the sofas with him. Through his facial expression giving the impression that he might not agree with his views, he has to follow them because he isn't a dominant figure. The negotiated reading of this image is that the women are more powerful than the men as they look sexualised in their body language. As well as standing up and looking taller and more powerful than the men sitting down as they are in a higher position than them. The oppositional reading is that not all upper class women would wear skin tight clothing to show off their figure, and wouldn’t place themselves in an sexualised way to impress the men. A lot of women would disagree with this intention from the creator as some women will be completely different.

The dominant reading of this image is that the reader should feel sympathy for this man as he is disabled and alone in nature probably thinking of depressive thoughts due to his facial expression. He looks really upset, which just makes the reader wonder what the cause of this might be. Therefore the creators intention is to feel sympathy and help the disabled.

The negotiated reading of this image is that he wants to be alone and away from society from their help and positive influences on his life. Through the use of blue sky this could be a sign form the creator that his life isn't all dull, and he has a positive future in life and God is giving help to him. He is at peace with nature, and would prefer to be alone. The oppositional reading indicated from this image is that we shouldn’t feel sympathy for him and that that is the way it is and we shouldn’t feel that way towards him just because he is in a wheel chair.

The dominant reading is that young adults are up to trouble, and it looks like they are doing community service to give back to the community from the crimes they have commit. Through the use of a uniform in this, and the fact that some of them have ignored the rules and decided to customise them reflects the typical stereotypes that this age group never follow rules in society. Also, the women are superior to the men as they are all smaller than the male figures, showing that they have more power over them. The leader is clearly in the middle from his body language and facial expressions, and he is appeared to be the tallest male as well so he is the most powerful. Which is achieved through the us of the camera angle, even the though the male on the end looks taller. Makes the audience almost feel scared of these people.

The negotiated reading of this image is that gender inequality occurs here. The reason for this is because there is three men and two women. Both of the women are in the centre of the photo. Surrounded by the men. This indicates that the women are being controlled and manipulated the men. There actions don’t actually reflect this type of lifestyle and that the men are changing their behaviour because of this. Another reason this is indicated is because the coloured woman is almost smiling, she is letting out her true personality in the photo and that’s what stereotypically good people do on a photo. Smile for photos, whereas the men are all looking moody and miserable trying to look tough for the photo. Which is what stereotypical bad behaved people would do.

The oppositional reading is that we should feel sympathy for these people as maybe they got into this situation by making a mistake and that has influenced their lives. They just want that chance break out of it but they cant because of the influences provided by the other members of the group that may not want to. We should feel as if we should hep these people as it is unfair to disregard people that have made mistakes, and that everyone deserves a second chance in life.

The dominant reading of this image is that Micheal is clearly a powerful man. Carrying a briefcase, wearing an expensive suit with and watch with a gun in his hand just shouts out dominance to the audience. Which indicates and creates a scary antagonist to the audience.

The negotiated reading is that yes, he can clearly identify as a scary antagonist with the features are involved with him in this image. However, another viewpoint on this is that he cant be a very good antagonist, because the positioning of the gun and his facial expression indicates that he has just been caught committing a crime and that he isn't very successful antagonist.

The oppositional reading of this image is that it portrays Micheal as a rich, successful person judging by the way he dresses. Therefore the intention that is given is that he is clearly intelligent and wouldn’t go into a place to commit a crime to get caught. So he could possibly be forced to do this or for it to benefit of someone else's good. Which then turns the viewing of him from a antagonist to a protagonist as that is a very caring thing to do. He doesn’t look scared or intimidated by the situation, so this could also suggest that there is a reasoning behind his bizarre actions.

Who are you?• Why do you belong to this group? Mainstream - Sports Junkies - are one of the most

aspirational of mainstream Tribes, but also one of the least influential. They’re dedicated to sporting achievement and prepared to continually be motivated, dedicated and thrive on winning. They will do there all to try and improve and win. This description perfectly matches my personality.

• What media figures represent you? – I feel Rory Mcilroy is similar in me in the fact that we both play golf and both are dedicated to the port and want to improve at any cost. But also on the fashion sense as well, Rory always dresses smart and colour coordinated when at the golf course, which is like me as well. We both take care in our appearance. Not only that, outside of golf Rory also takes part in football, likewise with me. Outside of our main sport, we both continue our competitive nature elsewhere.

• Do you consciously 'model' (copy modes of dress, style yourself, act like) yourself on any of these media figures? Why is that? I’d say my style is influenced by Rory if when playing golf, his colour coordination and style looks good. So I try and do the same when I go golf, and as well in casual wear. I am attentive to detail, and everything has to look right.
