Mr. Sanchez was A Sports Writer for the El Paso Herald Post from 1950 to 1990

High School Editor, Golf Editor, Racing Editor, Bowling Editor

this made him the first Hispanic Sports Editor in El Paso

After retiring from the Post he wrote a column for the El Paso Times and still writes today for the El Paso, Inc.

Mr. Sanchez has covered the following: The Dallas Cowboys, Super Bowls, World Series, Kentucky Derbies, U.S Opens (Golf)

Mr. Sanchez was a: Charter member and member of the board of directors of the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame, the El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame, the El Paso Golf Hall of Fame and the El Paso Boxing Hall of Fame.

Former president of the El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame.

Former member of the UTEP Library Board.

Past chairman of the program committee for the El Paso Downtown Lions Club.

Past member of the El Paso County Golf Board.
