GENERAL INFORMATION

2 practice cages: one for batting (enclosed in netting) and one for pitching (adjustable mounds)

Building is heated and air conditioned

Reservations for use must be made by a certified coach to the building administrator for that time slot

Building is available to all RPYBSL players under the supervision of a certified coach

RULES

AGE

1. No one under the age of 18 is permitted to use the practice building without the continued supervision of a certified coach.

2. The pitching machine operator must be at least 16 years of age with a certified coach within the building.

ATTIRE

1. NO metal cleats are allowed in the practice building. Batters and pitchers are required to wear sneakers while in the batting cage.

2. All batters MUST wear a batting helmet while using the batting cage.

PITCHING/BATTING CAGE

1. Only one batter and one pitcher/pitching machine operator are permitted inside the netted batting cage. All other players must remain outside the netted cage for their own safety.

2. The pitcher/pitching machine operator must stand behind the screen.

3. No “practice swinging” is permitted outside of the batting cage netting.

RULES

TERMS OF USE

1. All users of the practice building understand they use the facility at their own risk. Neither RPYBSL nor the town of Roselle Park is liable for any personal injury or equipment damage sustained in or around the practice building.

2. The supervising coach assumes all responsibility for the actions and behavior of the players they are supervising.

3. Abusive use and/or damaging of the practice building will result in immediate removal and loss of privilege.

4. No food or drink (except water) is permitted inside the practice building.

5. Infractions of any of the above rules may result in the immediate expulsion from the practice building and loss of use privilege for at least three months by the supervising coach and the offending player(s) involved.

RESERVATIONS

Requests by players’ parent for use of the practice building are to be made via their child’s coach.

Requests for use of the practice building by coaches are to be e-mailed to [email protected].

A maximum of six (6) players are permitted in the practice building at a time. So a 2-hour block can have four 1/2-hour slots of 6 players each, two 1-hour slots of 6 players each, and so on.

An e-mailed request for use does not constitute a booked reservation. One of the building administrators must confirm a reservation.

Only certified coaches may reserve the building.

Upon entering the building, if you see that the building is in disarray, immediately contact a building administrator to report this.

Coaches can not reserve more than 2 time slots per week.

If another coach requests an open slot, a coach with 2 blocks of time in that week will forfeit the open slot to accommodate.

Groups using the practice building must be let in and out by a building administrator or high school coach.

All users are expected to keep the practice building orderly, clean, and free of litter at all times.

Infractions of any of the above procedures may result in the immediate expulsion from the practice building and loss of use privilege for at least three months by the supervising coach and the offending player(s) involved.
