Part of the Chennai Bridge Calendar

Chennai's Bridge calendar is a busy one, with weekly, monthly and annual events. If you

consider that for almost 200 days in a year there's bridge activity, with participation from 70-80

players per event in the city alone, you can well imagine the buzz this game has generated. To top it all, this mind sport, is all set to make its debut in

the 2016 / 2020 Summer Olympics.

Bridge is already a part of the International Mind Sports Olympiad. And we at IIT Alumni Center

are delighted and privileged, to have been permitted by the sport's governing body to

conduct a monthly pairs event, which will be a part of the City Bridge Calendar as well. This pairs

event is recognized by the Chennai Bridge Association.

Winners and runners up accrue Master Points in addition to cash prizes. The first such tournament

was held on 5th March, 2014 with 68 participants. It was a delight to watch players turn out in such

large numbers. The President and the Vice-President of the Tamil Nadu Bridge Association

were present for the inaugural tournament.

dining area of the Center.

the tournament that went on till about 9:00

pm.

The IIT Alumni Industry Interaction Center has among its current members, a diverse and vibrant network of alumni from the IITs across India. Through the Center, the alumni, industry representative and professionals combine their time, talent and outreach efforts to transform, inspire, and add value to education and industry in the Chennai area.

The Center will have world-class facilities to enable value creation through meaningful networking among the individual members; research assistants and faculty of IIT Madras; professionals from fields of art and technology and leaders from the corporate world.
