nonprofit organization that
provides educational
programs and resources to
improve youth sports.
• Our organization started in
1981 as a volunteer coach
training program and
has expanded to provide
services for youth sports
administrators, officials and
parents as well as
coaches. To date we have
trained nearly 4 million youth
sports coaches.

To become a NAYS Coach, coaches must
complete the Coaching Youth Sports
training, one sport-specific training, sign
the NAYS Code of Ethics for Coaches and
remit the $20 training and membership
fee.

sets a standard for youth sports
parent education. NAYS Parent
Orientation offers a simple, effective
way to make youth sports parents
aware of their roles and
responsibilities, as well as ways they
can make their child’s experience
more enjoyable and positive.

Many youth sports programs today are run by a
group of volunteers who dedicate an enormous
amount of time to the league yet have little or no
formal training in the administration of youth
sports. Also, these volunteers may also
be personally liable for the actions of the
program. NAYS League Director Training &
