Before starting to run out along with our dogs, we should consider the following advices:

Getting ready for our first run: we should wait until our friends are at least 8 months old, when their skeletal system is more developed. Before this age, we can take them out for a walk; most of the puppies are strong enough to keep our pace, yet, they are not capable to understand when to stop. By walking or soft jogging, puppies get endurance and costumed to see people and thus socialize.

Let’s start them out slowly; warming up by walking. Keep an eye on them all the time, because dogs like to

please and hardly show signs of soreness. At any sing of tiredness or pain, we must slow down.

Pay attention to the weather, because dogs are more prone to suffer sun stroke and dehydration. Consider the heat to avoid exhausting them.

Give water to your dog before, during and after running. Pay attention to the surface / ground we are running. Our

friends do not count on the sophisticated-innovative and super comfortable running shoes we do. They support all their weight on their pads. It is important the pads toughen to run long distances. Pad wear is a common injury on dogs; treat carefully with medicine at any sign of pain.

Dogs perspiration system is through their pads; to cool down, they sweat and pant for which is needed to step on cooler ground.

If our dogs are overheated, let’s cool them down with cool water.

Some signs of overheating: Increased heart beating Increased salivation and panting Red gums and vomiting
