The SolutionAfter discussion with the RFUregarding the magazine’saudience, Coachwisedeveloped differing designsamples that met thegoverning body’s existing style and branding guidelines,and injected a ‘grass-rootsfeel’ to meet the audience’s expectations.

After presentation of fivediffering mastheads, frontcover and inner-page designsto the RFU, a decision wasmade on which designs wouldconvey their message most effectively.

The SolutionWith the decision made,Coachwise created guidelinesfor the publication, entitledRugby Edge, to ensureconsistency from initial designto issue one and beyond, andthen created the first eight-page issue.

Coachwise also providededitorial and significant printmanagement expertise andproduced the magazine onbehalf of the client.

The ResultsRugby Edge added real valueto the RFU’s coach licencescheme. The governingbody’s practical, informativecoaching articles werebrought to life by the clean,contemporary design that hasgiven the magazine a strong brand.

The popularity of the schemeand the magazine is such thatthe print run has increased by250% since issue one, and areprint of back issues hasbeen carried out to satisfy demand.
