INTRODUCTION

• Imagine going to school by bicycle, later cycling to the sports centre in the other part of the city, buses, trucks, motorcars passing you on wet roads, with dirt on your clothes everywhere. Are there any people who would do it? Is there an argument for travelling by bicycle in our cities?

• Cycling has become more popular nowadays. New cycling roads are being built to encourage people to have healthy life-style.

• There is no doubt that our streets have become more polluted than ever before and we should think about travelling by bike to help make the cities cleaner. What are the advantages and disadvantages of travelling by bike?

Besides, it is economical as you do not have to pay for the parking or worry about the high maintenance costs. Last but not least it is quick in heavy traffic and you can avoid traffic jams.

• However, there are many disadvantages to…travelling by bike. To begin with , it is dangerous in busy streets where you can be easily run over. Next you will breathe in unhealthy fumes, which will make the whole idea of leading a healthy life absurd. You are neither protected from weather and as a result might easily catch cold. Furthermore, it is not good for long trips as it is exhausting and time consuming.
