I’m intrigued by your organization for several reasons. One is my love for the sport of hockey, but the other reasons include the Boston Bruins Foundation’s distinguished support of their community and fans. The Boston Bruins have, for years, stood out as leaders in the well-being of the communities of Massachusetts. Their involvement with the youth of the state, as well as throughout other areas of the New England sports community, has been a constant demonstration of the heart and drive that create such a great team reputation. Programs like the Wives’ Carnival and Patrice’s Pals benefit those affected by terminal illness, while the T.D. Bank Kids’ Clubhouse, I.C.E. School Program and the Three Minutes of Fame use hockey to create learning opportunities for kids on and off the ice. Although the organization usually focuses on the youth community, the 8-Spoked Salute to a military hero is a program that demonstrates the respect and poise of the Bruins Foundation. My experience in volunteer work and organization of events like these, only on a smaller scale, offers me the insight I might need to be a part of your team. I have helped my family to organize our neighborhood block party, spent the last three years on a volunteer committee for the PFC Jonathan Roberge Memorial Golf Tournament, helped organize campaigns to market tradeshows and events for a computer software company, and currently am employed at Coco Key Water Resort, working on their sales team to coordinate birthday parties and events. Working as a team toward a great cause is something I love to do and already choose to do as often as possible.

Ms. Collins,

I’m writing in regard to the position that recently opened up in your Community Relations Department.

I would be honored to be considered for a position in your Community Relations Department. I will call your office next week, but in the mean time, feel free to contact me with any further questions. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Courtney [email protected]
