Chilean Women Win Homeless World Cup

The Chilean women’s soccer team recently defeated Mexico in the finals of the Homeless World Cup, an international event that utilizes sports as a tool for personal growth and global communication in the fight against poverty and homelessness. Chile hosted the 2014 tournament, and the women's team performed impressively throughout the opening rounds against a few of the 12 nations fielding women’s teams. Led by captain Denise Silva, who scored the game winning goal, Chile took the tense final with a score of 4-3.
