• A French word meaning “rebirth”.

• An instrument used to find direction. It has a needle that always points north.

• The study of how to plan and control the course of a ship.
parallels
• Imaginary lines on maps and globes that run east and west are the lines of latitude.
• Lines never meet, lines always have same distance from each other.
meridians
• An imaginary lines that run north and south on map or globe. These lines are also name the longitude.
Prime meridian
• The meridian marked zero degree. It runs north and south through Greenwich near the city of London in Britain.
Conclusion
• A decision or an idea reached by thoughtful study.
isthmus
• A narrow strip of land that connects two larger land areas.
expedition
• A journey taken for a special reason
scurvy
• A sickness caused by not getting enough vitamin C, which is found in fruit and vegetables.
fact
• A statement that can be proved true.
Opinion
• A statement that tells what a person believes, and cannot be proved true.
