Alpha Xi Delta Supports Autism Speaks through Step It Up 5K By Dawn Johnson

IntroductionDawn Johnson of San Antonio, Texas, is

the founder and CEO of DMJ Consulting. Prior to starting her own company, Dawn Johnson spent close to two decades with the United Services Automobile Association (USAA), where she worked in various executive positions in the USAA Alliance Services, marketing, and financial planning departments. She is a graduate of journalism and communications at Kansas State University (KSU).

AboutDuring her student days at KSU, Johnson was

a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. A service-oriented organization, Alpha Xi Delta supports philanthropic initiatives, in particular those spearheaded by its partner charity organization, Autism Speaks. Since 2010, the two organizations have advocated for autism research and awareness through the annual AmaXIng Challenge: Step It Up 5K. The “fun run” seeks to raise awareness for Autism Speaks, as well as to support families affected by autism. The most recent AmaXIng Challenge took place September 22, 2013.
