At the time, he was in the prime of his career, so the illness drastically interrupted his professional life as he had to undergo two years of chemotherapy. But, quite surprisingly, he somehow managed to reclaim all his strength and expertise back by winning the Nationwide Tour twice, after which he was brought down by cancer again. And that led to another round of chemotherapy treatment, but this time, he was finally set free from cancer and made an even more compelling second comeback. Jarrod Lyle has undoubtedly proved that comebacks from brutal illnesses and injuries are possible if you’re really passionate about the game.

Ben Hogan

The likeliness of Ben Hogan being one of the most inspirational golfers of all time will not strike a chord with golfers who don’t know much about the unfortunate event that took place in his life. Ben Hogan, who had already won over 50 tournaments, met with a disastrous car accident in which he broke several bones in his body and was crippled due to the high number of blood clots in his legs.

His doctors didn’t offer any sign of hope when it came to even being able to walk again. But that didn’t stop Ben Hogan from making an incredible comeback and winning six major tournaments in only nine total starts. While he achieved major success considerably slower than the rest, he somehow accomplished to be a leading and powerful golfer over a long period.
