5 NEW GOLF CLUBS TO GET YOU EXCITED FOR 2016by Darrell Kindley

Each new year brings something exciting to golf: new clubs. For any golf nerd out there, seeing the latest and greatest clubs to come out is like being a kid in a candy store. There are a ton of new clubs to get excited about in 2016, but here are the five I’m looking forward to trying out the most.

FAIRWAY WOOD: EXOTICS EX9 BY TOUR EDGE• Purpose: With new crown features

that reduce friction and offer better aerodynamic performance, the Exotics EX9 were designed for players seeking enhanced distance and clubhead speed.

• Features: Interchangeable heel weight, uniquely engineered SlipStream sole to reduce friction through turf, notched cavity behind the clubface for increased face flexibility and speed, a Carpenter 475 cup face, and a hyper-steel body. Mitsubishi Bassara E-Series and Matrix Exotics White Tie, Red Tie, and Black Tie graphite shafts come standard.

PUTTER: FUTURA X7 BY SCOTTY CAMERON• Purpose: The Futura X7 is

engineered with multi-material constructions to make alignment simple, providing players with more stability, balance and a higher MOI.

• Features: 10% larger wingback mallet, lightweight aluminum face and sole encompassed in a stainless steel frame, to create very soft feel with enhanced MOI and forgiveness at impact.

IRON: 716 T-MB BY TITLEIST• Purpose: Designed for the

advanced player focused on shot-shaping and control rather than forgiveness.

• Features: sleek design made from high-strength steel face reinforced with tungsten weights in the heel and toe, MOI that’s 6.8 percent higher than the one found in existing 712U utility irons, as well as stronger lofts than the 712U which help generate 2 mph more ball speed and an extra 3.9 yards of carry, on average. True Temper Dynamic Gold AMT steel shafts that are lighter in the long irons and heavier in the short.

DRIVER: Z 355 BY SRIXON• Purpose: Srixon said its new

gamer was designed for maximum distance and consistency.

• Features: Heavier head weight plus an ultra-high balance point shaft to increase ball speed while promoting a more consistent, stable swing. Titanium cup face for increased consistency and distance off the tee.

• Price: $348• Available: Now

DRIVER: VAPOR FLY BY NIKE• Purpose: Nike’s new vapor

delivers a higher launch, flatter ball flight, and distance, according to Paul Casey who showcased the driver at the Tour Championship at the end of the season.

• Features: Similar to current VaporSpeed with 10.5-degrees loft and Mitsubishi Rayon Diamana White Board 73x shaft as before, as well as compression channel, support beams and an adjustable hose.

Christmas is just around the corner and some of these are already available for purchase. If you’re not sure what to get the golf lover in your life for the holidays, I’d recommend any one of these.
