First creations with Lego. THE McCREA NEWS March 2015 YOUR!!! Colombian Connection Dear Friends, It is amazing what can bring you contentment, a feeling that you have a place to call your own. For our family that was our 2nd move in the last year. The first move was back to Colombia, but in a house that we knew was temporary. We spent a lot of time looking for a long term home, but it was only in January that God opened up some miraculous doors. It was such a cool testimony that we wrote it up, posted it on Facebook and even submitted it to Missions & Kids Magazine, a publication that just featured our family in the winter issue, that issue and the upcoming one can be found at www.paoc.org/missions/programs/mak/issues. The State Boy’s Home in Chiquinquira is another place where children from some rough backgrounds have found a place to belong, but it is also a place with very few amenities and fewer staff to care for the 20+ boys who call it home. As part of the work that we are doing in this town, we have tried to adopt the boy’s home in a small way. Recently, while preaching in a local church, we had the great joy of dropping off a bag of Lego for the guys - part donated by our boys and part by a little boy from Ontario. Within minutes they were all over the table of Lego and trying their hands at putting together whatever their imaginations could come up with! In March we will return to the home with a team from Edmonton, some more goodies and we will paint the interior of the house. And Play Of Course! Travel & Training begins again in April with a week long seminar with YWAM in San Pedro, Dominican Republic. Besides having the joy of spending the week with some 20 Dominican Missionaries, and maybe hitting a beach or two, the base director was my (Darren) supervisor when I did my first short term trip to Colombia - 20 Years Ago! It’s A Team Effort! And we need YOUR help! Much of what we do in Colombia is driven by Short Term Outreach Teams. Teams, especially Evangelistic Teams, allow us to reach tens of thousands of people each year with the Gospel. Imagine next winter taking a break from the cold and sharing God’s love in a tropical climate! We have literally dozens of opportunities for children’s ministry, construction teams, training and above all Evangelism, in places like schools and shopping centres. Come help us heat up a nation!
