Knowing there is such a place is a matter of faith. Going back time and

again, that's a matter of building a relationship. You need not have an

advanced degree in any subject, need not have memorized Scripture from

beginning to end, but instead

be aware the

Has a place for each Jew and Gentile who will open their minds and hearts to

Him.

Mt 6:5-8

When you pray, you shall not be as the role-fakers, for they love to stand and

pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be

seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received their reward. But

you, when you pray, enter into your inner chamber, and having shut your

door, pray to your Father Who is in secret, and your Father Who sees in

secret shall reward you openly. In praying, don’t use vain repetitions, as the

Gentiles do; for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Therefore don’t be like them, don't you see that your Father knows what

things you need before you ask Him.

The truth in reality is visited in this secret place AND must be shared by those

who will live or else ... they will perish ... in darkness.

“No one, when he has lit a Lamp, puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a

stand, that those who come in may see the Light.

Tehillim. 119:105

Your Word is a Lamp to my feet, and a Light (aur) for my path.

The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore when your eye is good, your

whole body is also full of Light; but when it is evil, your body also is full of

darkness. Therefore see whether the light that is in you isn’t darkness. If

therefore your whole body is full of Light, having no part dark, it shall be

Who see it from afar? The Secret Place, here, shines a bit of light so many

can see from afar. The topics we have chosen are addressed to Jew and

Gentile together. We do this because that is what the Bible does. This opens

the window to make more sense of what Scripture tells us!

There is no “hard copy” of Him! People want something they can identify

with, which is what makes the “god-man” concept so attractive, because it

makes them think they can be gods too. We can only understand what

Allows us to know about Himself, and we cannot control what we cannot

comprehend. Apportioned: divided, assigned, distributed; Aramaic,

"designated to serve". I.e., He gave them to all the nations and they are

common (contrast v. 20).But none of them is to be identified specifically with

Any wood placed into a furnace for smelting iron would be consumed

immediately. Egypt completely used them up, while feeding them—like pack

animals. Even the products forged of iron there—chariots—were used to kill

them. Now they were going to a place that would serve them rather than

consuming them. Nothing in the Tabernacle was made of iron;

away such a rare privilege and settle for something that the nations all stoop

to--nations that He considered a mere drop in the bucket in comparison

Yeshayah 40:15?

Surely the Goyim are like a drop in a bucket, and are accounted as dust of

the scales; surely He taketh up the iyim (islands) like fine dust.

The Nation of Y'Ishra'al

The remnant of her seed are those who keep the commandments of YHWH,

and have the testimony of YaHuWshua HaMeshiakh these are the ones

HaSatan is in constant battle and will sooon war amongst them

Dis 12:17

And the dragon was wroth with the woman ( assembly), and went to make

war the remnant of her seed, who keep the commandments of YHWH, and

have the testimony of YaHuWsHua HaMeshiakh.

And the dragon was provoked to anger over the woman, and went off to

prepare for battle with the remainder of her descendants, who keep the

commandments of YHWH and hold fast to the testimony of YaHuWsHua

HaMeshiakh

Both emphases are necessary. We are not even considered the seed of

Y'Ishra'al unless we both have the testimony of Y aHuWsHua and keep the

commandments. If we are not doing both, the dragon does not bother about

us, for we are no threat to him. If he can afford to ignore us, we are

accomplishing nothing. Doing both will get him angry, but it is bait for the trap

that will do him in. It represents a system made up of lawless men, whose

power base we threaten when we keep the Torah, since we undercut their

economic base by stopping all commerce on the Sabbath, neglecting to

bolster their income at Christmas, etc. They know that when YaHuWshua is

enthroned, they will all have to submit to him, and they want to defer that as

long as they can by getting us to neglect one or the other of these elements.

Dis 18:4

'And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, 'Come out of her, my people,

so you will not be partakers of her sins, and so you will not receive any of her

plagues.

This actually is an allusion to

Isa 48:20: "

Go forth from Babylon, flee from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing, make

a proclamation! Declare this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say, YHWH

has redeemed His servant Jacob."

12. And the men said to Lot, "Who do you still have here? Bring your sons

and sons-in-law and daughters out of this place, and whoever in the city

belongs to you,

While only Lot was required to leave (v. 22), others were offered the choice.

Moshe (the Torah) and Aliyahu (the Ruakh( of the one who restores all

things) have come to take us out of the lawless system as well, because they

are going to destroy it.

Bber 19:13.

because we are about to destroy this place, since their outcry is great before

YHWH, and YHWH has sent us to destroy it.

Bber 19:14.

So Lot went out to speak with his sons-in-law--those [who were] taking his

daughters [as wives], and said, "Get up and leave this place, for YHWH is

about to destroy the city!" But to his sons-in-law he seemed as if he were

playing a prank.

Went out: Now that the citizens of S'dom were all blind, he could leave the

house undetected. Even this long ago, people who said, "the end is near"

were not taken seriously.

So how do we "come out of her"? For Lot, there was a clear time when he

had to make a clean physical break with the cities. We get the impression that

he never should have been there at all, but YHWH worked with him where he

was, and dealt with him mercifully after he got into that mess, and how much

more when we are born into the exile our ancestors already imposed on us?

But there was a definite deadline to get all the way out. Maybe we're not quite

there yet, but there are ways we can prepare so we'll be in a position to fully

leave when that time comes. Lot wasn't so well-organized, and they had to

drag him out; we should be in a place where all it takes is His whisper that it's

time to put into action what we've been expecting all along. Lot tried, but his

sons-in-law still thought he was joking when he told them it was time to leave.

When I read the story to my boys, they asked why they thought he was

kidding. I wonder, was he in the habit of joking so much that no one took him

seriously, like the boy who cried "wolf"? After all, how do you deal with life in

a city that would otherwise make you cry all the time, except by laughing?

(Remember, Kefa said it tortured his soul.) But somehow a distinction has to

be made so that "those who belong to us" will also see the need to be ready

to come out. We need to take steps to disentangle ourselves from

indebtedness to Babylon before the threat becomes imminent. That might be

through literal reduction of debts, but certainly through disengaging from

dependence on either the church or the economic system in our attitudes—

thinking we owe it our allegiance or any more of our energy than is absolutely

essential to earn our bread. After all, Lot already had huge flocks and herds;

he didn't need anything the people of S'dom had to offer. But as he moved

close to them, he started seeing their lifestyle as normal, and thought there

was greater security within their walls. How many things do we think we need

just because the society around us says we need them, when YHWH has

given us community and fullness of life already? What securities would we

not need if we hadn't been told that we needed them by someone who is in a

position to benefit if we start thinking we need them? And most of all, we have

to help one another get rid of such encumbrances so that we can all be

equally free to leave when the call comes. Where possible, we can borrow

from one another rather than from what is outside. And we can all encourage

one another to be strong in heart and mind to resist the influence of Babylon

so we never consider it to be our "home". Let's be like Ezra and Nehemyah,

who heard the call to come out of Babylon simply because it was time, not

because there was a threat of destruction, and even when conditions seemed

better in Babylon than in the Homeland. Maybe we can leave our "Egypt"

without having to be driven out this time.

This actually is an allusion to, and how to flee its confusion

Depart from Confusion (Bavel); flee from the Increases (Kasdíym) by means

of a cry of supplication! Declare this, cause it to be heard! Dispatch it out to

the ends of the earth! Say YHWH has redeemed His

servant Ya`aqóv!

We are called to repenetence, belief and immersion both physical and

spiritual ( being immeresed in the TORAH, the book of righteous living) for his

kingdom will be ruled in righteousness)

Yshayahuw 48:21

And they shall not be thirsty in the wasteland: He has led them to waters from

a Rock He caused to flow for them, and He shall break into the Rock and

waters shall gush out.

“There is no shalom (peace, reconciliation, completeness),”Says YHWH ,“for

the Wicked ones.”

Who are the wicked ones

Using the same root of the word Wickedness found in

ZkharYahuw 5: 3-11,

.So He told me, “This is the curse that goes out over the surface of the whole

earth: according to it,‘From this [time forth], anyone who steals will be

unpunished,’ and according to it, ‘from this [time forth], anyone who swears

an oath will be unpunished.’

Global Lawlessness

The whole earth: This gives us another clue as to what it is—something that

claims to be universal. This is what the term “catholic” means. And going

unpunished (alt., purged or cleaned out)—this is the message of grace. But

why is this a curse? Because it is so profaned by being offered to those who

know nothing about holiness, that it is distorted to the point of making people

think that they can do whatever they want, then say, “I’m sorry” on their

deathbed, and that all would be well for them in the hereafter. This is a curse

to the rest of society, which will suffer from their unpunished crimes, because

there will be no logical deterrent to sinning. This goes against the Torah.

YaHuWsHua brought an amnesty for those who would return to the

Covenant, and He knows we cannot do everything perfectly while in exile, but

that is the purpose of grace; it is not intended to let everyone go scot-free so

that they can return to their own selfish ways.

ZkharYahuw 5: 3-4.

“I will bring it out,” declares YHWH [Master] of Armies, “and it will enter into

the house of the thief and into the house of the one who swears fraudulently

by My Name. And it will lodge within his house and [consume it away]

completely along with its timbers and its stones.”

Compare the laws regarding house-leprosy in Lev. 14:34ff. This extreme

grace will ruin any household. It also “tears down the Temple” again by

opposing its rebuilding, which was Z’kharyah’s task. This parody of YHWH’s

true grace is still all done in His Name, and steals away the appointed times

He set.

ZkharYahuw 5: 3-5.

Then the messenger who [was] speaking to me told me, “Please lift up your

eyes and see what this is that is going forth.”

ZkharYahuw 5: 3-6.

So I said, “What is it?” And He said, “This is the ephah that goes forth.” He

also said, “This is their eye throughout the whole earth.”

Their eye: or, wellspring, the fountain from which a counterfeit “truth” flows.

Ephah: a dry measure equivalent to ten omers

(Ex. 16:36).

Since an omer is the amount needed to feed one man for one day

(16:16),

it represents one man.

Ten men represents a minyan (quorum), and thus symbolizes a complete

congregation. So this measuring basket represents a congregation just as the

flying scroll did, focusing us even more clearly to the conclusion that this

whole chapter is speaking about the Church as the counterfeit tabernacle,

overemphasizing YHWH’s grace and underemphasizing the Sacredness

YHWH requires where His presence is to dwell. To a lesser degree it also

represents rabbinic Judaism, another twisting of the Torah for the purposes of

convenience and a lust for power (originally).

ZkharYahuw 5: 3-7.

And, lo and behold, a [whirling] round talent-weight of lead was lifted off, and

this singular woman was sitting inside the ephah [basket].

Round talent-weight: all one term in Hebrew. In the context of the flying

scroll, it probably represents the winged sun-disk so common as a pagan

symbol, the spirit of which the Church adopted by emphasizing the “day of the

Sun”. This came about by allowing the woman to teach Y’shua’s servants.

(Rev. 2) She is the spirit of Yisabel (Jezebel), which means “exalted

husband”, and one who exalts herself over her husband. By claiming the right

to change the Sabbath and the festivals, the Church also steals Y’shua’s

authority. Singular: or unified. But YHWH is building a unified man. (Eph.

2:15)

ZkharYahuw 5: 3-8.

And He said, “This is the Lawlessness,” and He flung it into the midst of the

ephah, and cast the leaden stone [weight] into its mouth.

The Lawlessness: a “mystery” which is held back at present, but will not

always be. (2 Thess. 2:7) But when it is released, it will be judged.

ZkharYahuw 5: 3-9.

Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and, lo and behold, two women came

forth with the wind in their wings. Now they had wings like the wings of a

stork, and they suspended the ephah between the earth and the heavens.

Stork: an unclean bird, but the same word as the Hebrew term for a faithful,

pious woman. They represent those in both houses of Israel who are

returning to YHWH’s covenant, while still unclean and in exile, yet doing the

job YHWH has for us now. Between the earth and the heavens: a plane

where visions are seen (1 Chron. 21:16; Y’hezq’El/Ezek. 8:3) Place was

found in neither for it. (Dan. 2:35)

ZkharYahuw 5: 3-10.

And I asked the messenger who was speaking to me where they were going

with the ephah,

ZkharYahuw 5: 3-11.

and he told me, “To build a house for her in the land of Shinar, and it will be

fastened and left there on its own base.

Shinar: where the Tower of Bavel, the seat of the first unification of

mankind--against YHWH--after the Flood. It was a place designed to

withstand another flood, and corresponds with the sense the Church has of

being above and immune to judgment, and even having authority greater than

the Torah, which Y’shua would not claim for Himself. Base: or, resting-place.

Note that this is not a foundation YHWH designed, but its own creation. So it

is going back to where it belongs, and will not be permitted to move from

there. Babylon is also called a woman in Rev. 17 and 18. Perhaps this

correlates with haSatan’s being bound for 1,000 years. (Rev. 20:2)

this refers to those who complete the transgression, manifesting the Lie

TRANSGRESSION is INFRINGEMENT or VIOLATION of the LAW: COMMAND or

DUTY

On the makers of the Created thing, the transition

TRANSITIONis a PASSAGE from ONE STATE to ANOTHER; i.e STAGE,

SUBJECT or PLACE to ANOTHER

One will either exist in this world, or in the resurrection, or in the places of the

transition YHWH forbid that I be found in these! In this world there are the

good and the evil. Its “good” is not good, and its “evil” is not evil. But there is

evil later, of this world, which is truly evil - what is called

“the transition”

The transition is the Immortal life theory, to be announced shortly,

concerning the DNA replacement Age gene, that whoever accepts will have

the Mark of the Beast upon him,

I will not place near to My sight a word of worthlessness, a work of those

transitioning . I hate it, it shall not stick on Me. it means death

[Disclosure 6: 8].

I looked and there was an ashen horse, Its rider's name was Death (spiritual),

and Sheol followed after him. They were given authority over the fourth part

of the earth, to kill with sword [symbol of war], famine, and pestilence, and by

the ravenous beasts of the earth. [diminutive" wild beasts" ? - bacteria,

viruses, etc.] [ same four judgments listed below in Yehezq'a] … beast and

animals in the Scriptures often refer to nations and powers.

While we are in this age it is fitting for us to acquire the resurrection, so that

when we strip off the flesh we may be found in the Rest and that we not have

to walk erring in transition. Indeed, many already go astray from the Way. It

is, thus, convenient to depart from the world before man has completed the

transgression [manifest the Lie].

This is those who accept the lie pertaining to the Immortal life theory, and

accept the counterfit theory ( a back door attempt to enter his Kingdom, this

LIE will be believed by many

They diligently devise evil distortions (lawlessness) Then I shall tell them,

‘Never did I acknowledge you: even if you are on My lap and do not do the

will of My Father Who is in shamayim, out of My lap will I cast you away!

Depart from Me, all you who workers of Lawlessness [saying],

“We have completed the plot which we have been plotting!”

Your Hand will find out all of Your enemies, Your right Hand, it will detect the

ones hating You.You shall make them become like a furnace of fire at the

time of Your Face, YHWH For Wickedness (Rishah burns like a fire. It

devours the briers and thorns; yes, it kindles in the thickets of the forest, and

they roll upward in a column of smoke.It will engulf them in Its anger and Fire

will consume them. A Day of darkness and gloominess, a Day of clouds and

thick darkness. As the dawn spreading on the mountains, a great and strong

people; there has never been the like, neither will there be any more after

them, even to the years of many generations. A fire devours before them, and

behind them, a flame burns.The Land is as the garden of Eden before

here we see the genetic altered DNA beings, who are no longer Humanknd,

They run like mighty men, they climb the wall like men of battle, every one

goes on his way, and they do not break ranks. And they do not press one

another, every one goes in his path. They fall among the weapons, but they

do not stop. They rush on the city, they run on the wall. They climb into the

houses, they enter at the windows like a thief.

Yet those from the plot

Intrigue (plot): meaning the scheme, the plot, the self-seeking faction. This

word is found in writings of Aristotle where it denotes a self-seeking pursuit of

political office by unfair means. Lexicons say the Greek word used here

means electioneering or intriguing for office, partisanship, fractiousness. This

refers to the apostasy, which builds on a different foundation for a greater

number of converts. This intrigue is to become manifested in the Lie who will

incarnate and conquer the world for himself

are indeed announcing the Deliverer not purely

Romans were corrupting His name, starting the apostasy, and this is reflected

in Páulus’s first chapter to the Romans.

supposing to add oppression to my bonds, which they could not accomplish;

consequently You regularly put them back among Your remaining ones

LXX shows this to be the active participle of Strong’s #3498, mistranslated as

#4340. These verses point out that those working the Transition towards the

Transgression are recycled until He has to face the completion of it, the

Impostor.

You will prepare (against) their face.and to cause their seed to fall among the

heathen masses and to sift them among the lands. consequently You

regularly put them back among Your remaining ones, You will prepare

(against) their face.Your Hand will find out all of Your enemies, Your right

Hand, it will detect the ones hating You.You shall make them become like a

asserting their "wisdom" they were [proven to be] foolish, and they traded the glory of the incorruptible Aluahiymn for an image resembling man, who is perishable—and then [the likeness] of

birds and four-footed animals, and even reptiles.

On account of this, Aluahiymn in turn gave them up to [what they preferred,]

the uncleanness evidenced in the lusts of their hearts—letting their very

bodies be dishonored among themselves. these who exchanged the clear

reality of Aluahiymn for the lie, and worshipped and served what was created

rather than the Creator, who indeed is blessed forever.

This is DNA maniplation beginning with cloning animals, but eventually

Human DNA will be altered, ending in a false promise, from a falsifier ( Satan)

who will deceives the whole world

YshaYahuw 29: 15, 47: 10, 51: 23]

Woe to those who deeply hide their counsel from YHWH, and whose works

are in the dark, and who say, “Who sees us?” and “Who knows us what we

do corruptly?" How perverse you are!

Should the potter be reckoned as the clay?

Should what is made say of its Maker, “He didn’t make me;” or the thing

formed say of Him Who formed it, “He has no understanding of me?”For you

have trusted in your wickedness; you have said, "No one sees me"; your

shrewdness and your knowledge, it has perverted you, and you have said in

your heart, "I am, and there is no longer anyone but me. Therefore evil shall

come on you; you won’t know when it dawns: and mischief will fall on you;

you shall not be able to put [ransom] it away [or cover it up]: and desolation

shall come on you suddenly, without you recognizing it.and I shall put it into

the hand of those who afflict you, who have said to your being, ‘Bow down,

that we may walk over you;’ and you have laid your back as the ground, and

as the street, to those who walk over.”

ZkharYahuw 5: 3

So He told me,

“This is the curse that goes out over the surface of the whole earth:

according to it,‘ From this [time forth], anyone who steals will be unpunished,’

and according to it, ‘from this [time forth], anyone who swears an oath will be

unpunished.’

The whole earth: This gives us another clue as to what it is—something that

claims to be universal. This is what the term “catholic” means. And going

unpunished (alt., purged or cleaned out)—this is the message of grace. But

why is this a curse? Because it is so profaned by being offered to those who

know nothing about holiness, that it is distorted to the point of making people

think that they can do whatever they want, then say, “I’m sorry” on their

deathbed, and that all would be well for them in the hereafter. This is a curse

to the rest of society, which will suffer from their unpunished crimes, because

there will be no logical deterrent to sinning. This goes against the Torah.

Y’shua brought an amnesty for those who would return to the Covenant, and

He knows we cannot do everything perfectly while in exile, but that is the

purpose of grace; it is not intended to let everyone go scot-free so that they

can return to their own selfish ways.

ZkharYahuw 5: 4.

“I will bring it out,” declares YHWH [Master] of Armies, “and it will enter into

the house of the thief and into the house of the one who swears fraudulently

by My Name. And it will lodge within his house and [consume it away]

completely along with its timbers and its stones.”

Compare the laws regarding house-leprosy in with the need for treatment of

a hybrid

When you have come into the land of Kena'an, which I give to you for a

possession, and I put a spreading mildew in a house in the land of your

possession, Then he who owns the house shall come and tell the priest,

saying, ‘There seems to me to be some sort of plague in the house.’ The

priest shall command that they empty the house, before the priest goes in to

examine the plague, that all that is in the house not be made unclean: and

afterward the priest shall go in to inspect the house. He shall examine the

plague; and behold, if the plague is in the walls of the house with hollow

streaks, greenish or reddish, and it appears to be deeper than the wall; then

the priest shall go out of the house to the door of the house, and shut up the

house seven days. The priest shall come again on the seventh day, and

look. If the plague has spread in the walls of the house, then the priest shall

command that they take out the stones in which is the plague, and cast them

into an unclean place outside of the city: and he shall cause the inside of the

house to be scraped all over, and they shall pour out the mortar, that they

scraped off, outside of the city into an unclean place. They shall take other

stones, and put them in the place of those stones; and he shall take other

mortar, and shall plaster the house.

This is the immortal life theropy that will need fixing now and then

The hybrid

“If the plague comes again, and breaks out in the house, after he has taken

out the stones, and after he has scraped the house, and after it was

plastered; then the priest shall come in and look; and behold, if the plague

has spread in the house, it is a destructive mildew in the house. It is unclean.

He shall break down the house, its stones, and its timber, and all the house’s

mortar. He shall carry them out of the city into an unclean place.

This extreme grace will ruin any household. It also “tears down the Temple”

again by opposing its rebuilding, which was Z’kharyah’s task. This parody of

YHWH’s true grace is still all done in His Name, and steals away the

appointed times He set.

ZkharYahuw 5:5.

Then the messenger who [was] speaking to me told me, “Please lift up your

eyes and see what this is that is going forth.”

ZkharYahuw 5:6.

So I said, “What is it?” And He said, “This is the ephah that goes forth.” He

also said, “This is their eye throughout the whole earth.”

Their eye: or, wellspring, the fountain from which a counterfeit “truth” flows.

Ephah: a dry measure equivalent to ten omers (Ex. 16:36). Since an omer is

the amount needed to feed one man for one day (16:16), it represents one

man. Ten men represents a minyan (quorum), and thus symbolizes a

complete congregation. So this measuring basket represents a congregation

just as the flying scroll did, focusing us even more clearly to the conclusion

that this whole chapter is speaking about the Church as the counterfeit

tabernacle, overemphasizing YHWH’s grace and underemphasizing the

holiness YHWH requires where His presence is to dwell. To a lesser degree it

also represents rabbinic Judaism, another twisting of the Torah for the

purposes of convenience and a lust for power (originally).

ZkharYahuw 5:7.

And, lo and behold, a [whirling] round talent-weight of lead was lifted off, and

this singular woman was sitting inside the ephah [basket].

Round talent-weight: all one term in Hebrew. In the context of the flying

scroll, it probably represents the winged sun-disk so common as a pagan

symbol, the spirit of which the Church adopted by emphasizing the “day of the

Sun”. This came about by allowing the woman to teach Y’shua’s servants.

(Rev. 2) She is the spirit of Yisabel (Jezebel), which means “exalted

husband”, and one who exalts herself over her husband. By claiming the right

to change the Sabbath and the festivals, the Church also steals Y’shua’s

authority. Singular: or unified. But YHWH is building a unified man. (Eph.

2:15)

ZkharYahuw 5:8.

And He said, “This is the Lawlessness,” and He flung it into the midst of the

ephah, and cast the leaden stone [weight] into its mouth.

The Lawlessness: a “mystery” which is held back at present, but will not

always be. (2 Thess. 2:7) But when it is released, it will be judged.

ZkharYahuw 5:9.

Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and, lo and behold, two women came

forth with the wind in their wings. Now they had wings like the wings of a

stork, and they suspended the ephah between the earth and the heavens.

Stork: an unclean bird, but the same word as the Hebrew term for a faithful,

pious woman. They represent those in both houses of Israel who are

returning to YHWH’s covenant, while still unclean and in exile, yet doing the

job YHWH has for us now. Between the earth and the heavens: a plane

where visions are seen (1 Chron. 21:16; Y’hezq’El/Ezek. 8:3) Place was

found in neither for it. (Dan. 2:35)

ZkharYahuw 5:10.

And I asked the messenger who was speaking to me where they were going

with the ephah,

ZkharYahuw 5:11.

and he told me, “To build a house for her in the land of Shinar, and it will be

fastened and left there on its own base.

Shinar: where the Tower of Bavel, the seat of the first unification of

mankind--against YHWH--after the Flood. It was a place designed to

withstand another flood, and corresponds with the sense the Church has of

being above and immune to judgment, and even having authority greater than

the Torah, which Y’shua would not claim for Himself. Base: or, resting-place.

Note that this is not a foundation YHWH designed, but its own creation. So it

is going back to where it belongs, and will not be permitted to move from

there. Babylon is also called a woman in Rev. 17 and 18. Perhaps this

correlates with haSatan’s being bound for 1,000 years. (Rev. 20:2)

this refers to those who complete the transgression, manifesting the Lie

"Go forth from Babylon, flee from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing,

make a proclamation! Declare this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say,

YHWH has redeemed His servant Jacob."

Compare Bber 19:12-14. So how do we "come out of her"? For Lot, there was

a clear time when he had to make a clean physical break with the cities. We

get the impression that he never should have been there at all, but YHWH

worked with him where he was, and dealt with him mercifully after he got into

that mess, and how much more when we are born into the exile our ancestors

already imposed on us? But there was a definite deadline to get all the way

out. Maybe we're not quite there yet, but there are ways we can prepare so

we'll be in a position to fully leave when that time comes. Lot wasn't so well-

organized, and they had to drag him out; we should be in a place where all it

takes is His whisper that it's time to put into action what we've been expecting

all along. Lot tried, but his sons-in-law still thought he was joking when he told

them it was time to leave. When I read the story to my boys, they asked why

they thought he was kidding. I wonder, was he in the habit of joking so much

that no one took him seriously, like the boy who cried "wolf"? After all, how do

you deal with life in a city that would otherwise make you cry all the time,

except by laughing? (Remember, Kefa said it tortured his soul.) But somehow

a distinction has to be made so that "those who belong to us" will also see the

need to be ready to come out. We need to take steps to disentangle

ourselves from indebtedness to Babylon before the threat becomes imminent.

That might be through literal reduction of debts, but certainly through

disengaging from dependence on either the church or the economic system

in our attitudes—thinking we owe it our allegiance or any more of our energy

than is absolutely essential to earn our bread. After all, Lot already had huge

flocks and herds; he didn't need anything the people of S'dom had to offer.

But as he moved close to them, he started seeing their lifestyle as normal,

and thought there was greater security within their walls. How many things do

we think we need just because the society around us says we need them,

when YHWH has given us community and fullness of life already? What

securities would we not need if we hadn't been told that we needed them by

someone who is in a position to benefit if we start thinking we need them?

And most of all, we have to help one another get rid of such encumbrances

so that we can all be equally free to leave when the call comes. Where

possible, we can borrow from one another rather than from what is outside.

And we can all encourage one another to be strong in heart and mind to

resist the influence of Babylon so we never consider it to be our "home". Let's

be like Ezra and Nehemyah, who heard the call to come out of Babylon

simply because it was time, not because there was a threat of destruction,

and even when conditions seemed better in Babylon than in the Homeland.

Maybe we can leave our "Egypt" without having to be driven out this time.
