What is the most important thing in life?

Mar 12:28 And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he

answered them well, asked him,

"Which commandment is the most important of all?" Mar 12:28 One of the religion scholars came up. Hearing the lively exchanges of question and answer and seeing

how sharp Jesus was in his answers, he put in his question:

"Which is most important of all the commandments?"

Mar 12:29 Jesus answered, "The most important is, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.

Mar 12:30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind

and with all your strength.' Mar 12:29 Jesus said, "The first in importance is, 'Listen,

Israel: The Lord your God is one;

Mar 12:30 so love the Lord God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy.'

“with your whole heart”

Jesus is to be our all satisfying treasure and love. Does He have your heart? Part of it?

None of it?

Make it your goal to grow in your love for Christ everyday in all that you do!!!

“with all your soul”

The soul is your emotional makeup. Do you love God with your emotions? Do you bring your emotions into check

when they are in disobedience to God? Do you engage your emotions in worship? Do you find joy in God?

“with all your mind”

Do you think rightly about God? Is your thought life glorifying to God? Do you make an effort to

learn the Bible?

“with all your strength”

• Deu 6:9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

• Deu 6:4 Attention, Israel! GOD, our God! GOD the one and only! • Deu 6:5 Love GOD, your God, with your whole heart: love him with all that's in

you, love him with all you've got! • Deu 6:6 Write these commandments that I've given you today on your hearts.

Get them inside of you • Deu 6:7 and then get them inside your children. Talk about them wherever you

are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night.

• Deu 6:8 Tie them on your hands and foreheads as a reminder

This verse is known as the “Shema”, which means,

“hear”.

God’s people would recite this everyday because of

how important it was!!!

“Write these commandments that I've given you today on your

hearts. Get them inside of you!!!”
