Danzanravjaa
Danzanravjaa was born into a
poor family from Tushet Khan
aimag in 1803. His mother died
when he was young and he lived
with his father. Their life was very
hard.
His first song was ”Heavenly sky. The words
were really clever and the music was
wonderful. He also wrote the song “Great
quality” which praised a beautiful woman.
D.Ravjaa wrote over forty songs and thirty
poems. In his songs and poems he
described everyday life in Mongolia. He
also wrote and performed plays and
painted beautiful pictures. He became very
popular in Mongolia.
People believed that D.Ravjaa was
raincarneted as the fifth Noyon Khutugtu of
the Gobi. He studied Buddist philosophy in
Badgar Choiling and other monasteries
between the ages of sixteen and
seventeen.
He started a monastery in Hamar and
three monasteries in the Galbyn Gobi. He
was one of the most respected living
Buddhas in Mongolia.
