NOTE: By “Top 20”, we mean just the orderly listing of the key commands as found in Mathew 5,6,7

(Excerpts from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount) and not in terms of hierarchical importance;

Neither be angry with others nor scold them with evil words

Do NOT divorce your spouse(except for marital unfaithfulness)

Settle matters quickly with your adversary before it costs you

Do not look at a woman lustfully(For you would have then committed

adultery in your heart)

Do not swear at all; Simply let your 'Yes' be 'Yes' and your 'No' be ‘No’

Do not resist an evil person Be patient if someone strikes you or take away your

belongings or force you for something

Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to

borrow from you

Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven

For He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and

sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

Giving to the needyFor you to get rewards from Heavenly Father, Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them

When you pray, keep yourself away from all around and pray to your Heavenly Father in secret!

And when you pray, do not keep on babbling, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

When you fast, do not showoff that you are fasting

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth but in Heaven;

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be!

Do not worry about your life; Do not worry about tomorrow!

Do not judge others, or you too will be judged - For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged,

and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you

Don’t waste what is holy on people who are unholy

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to

destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Watch out for false prophets/teachers… By their fruit you will recognize them.

“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums

up the Law and the Prophets” - Jesus

“Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does

the will of my Father who is in heaven” – Jesus
