1 Kings 2:1-4 As the time of King David’s death approached, he gave his charge to his son Solomon: “I am going where everyone on earth must someday go. Take courage and be a man. Observe the requirements of the LORD your God, and follow all His ways. 1 Kings 2:3 Observe the requirements of the LORD your God, and follow all His ways. Keep the decrees, commands, regulations, and laws written in the Law of Moses so that you will be successful in all you do and wherever you go.

• Eccl 2:1-10 “Come on, let’s try pleasure. Let’s look for the good things in life... I did not withhold my heart from any pleasure…..”

• Ultimate fulfillment is in the LORD.

1 Kings 2:4 “If your descendants live as they should and follow Me faithfully with all their heart and soul, one of them will always sit on the throne of Israel.”

• Eccl 2:3-11 ..seeking wisdom….building huge homes....planting beautiful vineyards….made gardens and parks….built reservoirs….bought slaves….owned large herds and flocks….collected great sums of silver and gold....hired wonderful singers….had many beautiful concubines..

• 1 Kings 11:4 ..they turned his heart to worship other gods instead of being completely faithful to the LORD his God…

1 Kings 2:3-4 Keep the decrees, commands, regulations, and laws written in the Law of Moses so that you will be successful in all you do and wherever you go. If you do this, then the LORD will keep the promise He made to me.

• Eccl 12:13 Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty.

• Delight in Him and honour Him.
