How Can We Fight the Good Fight?

•God supplies us with mighty spiritual

What Protection Does God Give Us? V.11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you

may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. NKJ

• With God’s Armor on we CAN stand firm against our enemies! Rom. 13:12; 2 Cor. 6:7

• But we must first put God’s armor on in order for it to protect us.

When Do We Need This Armor?V.13 Therefore take up the whole armor of

God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

• Always! 1 Pet. 5:8; 2 Cor. 10:6; 2 Cor. 11:3

• We must do all that we can to stand against our enemies. 1 Cor. 10:12

– The evil day… Eph. 5:16

– Understand God’s will and do it! Eph. 5:17

Elements of God’s Armor• V.14 Stand therefore, having girded your

waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

• We must have Truth to bind our Armor on us, as a belt to safely secure it.

– Like our Savior… Isaiah 11:5; Jn. 1:14

• Must put on the “breastplate of righteousness” too. Isaiah 59:17; Eph. 5:9

Elements of God’s Armor• V.15 and having shod your feet with the

preparation of the gospel of peace;

• Must have the readiness of the gospel every step we take. Ps. 10:17; Isaiah 26:3; Phil. 4:7; Rom. 10:15

• All scripture can prepare us for every good work. 2 Tim. 3:16-17

– Live by it or die without it! Matthew 4:4

Elements of God’s Armor• V.16 above all, taking the shield of faith with

which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

• Faith is our victorious shield of God! Prov. 30:5; 1 Jn. 5:4• With this shield we CAN extinguish the

enemy’s darts. – True Faith is hearing and obeying God…

Elements of God’s Armor• V.17 And take the helmet of salvation, and

the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

• Put on the helmet of salvation

– “the hope of salvation” protects our head

• The sword of the Spirit is the word of God.

Therefore we must obey Jesus and put on the whole armor of God which includes:•The belt of truth and breastplate of righteousness v. 14•Our feet prepared with the shoes of gospel peace. v. 15•The shield of Faith v.16•The helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit v. 17

•Are you wearing the whole armor of God?
