Baptism In The Holy Spirit

“But when the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) comes, Whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth Who comes (proceeds) from the Father, He [Himself] will testify regarding Me.” John 15:26 (AMP)

The List: The Holy Spirit 1. The Comforter2. Counselor - 3. Helper, Advocate – our defender4. *Intercessor 5. Strengthener, Standby 6. I will send to you from the Father, 7. the Spirit of Truth Who comes (proceeds) from the

Father, He [Himself] will testify regarding Me.” John 15:26 (AMP)

The Holy Spirit as Intercessor The Holy Spirit continually talks to the Father about your needs and desires. 1. While you are asleep… He prays for

you.2. While you work…He prays for you.3. When you feel doubts…He prays for

you.

The Holy Spirit as Intercessor

The Holy Spirit is our committed personal Intercessor every day.


“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. … but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us[b] with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Rom.8:26


Humans simply do to know how to pray.“For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us.” Rom.8:26

*Baptism In The Holy Spirit

John 16:13-14 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. [ the prophetic mode of the HP]


The Holy Spirit sovereignly draws to glorify and testify of the Lord Jesus Christ.14 “He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.” John 16: 14


People who are filled with the Holy Spirit will glorify the Lord!!!

The Holy Spirit: The Spirit of TruthAs the Spirit of Truth the Holy Spirit:a. is requisite to knowing God:b. The Holy Spirit illuminates the Truth

to us.c. Matures our capacity to receive

divine Truths.d. Teaches us to combat the enemies

of Truth: doubt and unbelief.


“…the Holy Spirit comes into our lives as a divine Person, not as an experience. The Father and the Son are divine.

Baptism In The Holy SpiritTwo Keys To Knowing The Holy Spirit

1.Ask Him to come and make the presence of Christ real to you.

2.Give yourself to prayerful study of God’s Word.

Baptism In The Holy SpiritThe Holy Spirit Exhibits God’s Three Elements of Personality; He:a) Reveals the Mind of God …b)as He fulfills the will of God for

mankindc) and expresses the Emotions of God

in His loving and holy relationships to mankind.


1. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is received by faith.

2. Luke 11:13, “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?”


a)3. When you ask in faith, the Holy Spirit comes to live in you.

b) When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, as in the book of Acts, you speak in tongues.

1.Speaking in tongues is simply speaking in a language that only God understands—even you won’t understand it.

2.The Holy Spirit will have to give you the interpretation and revelation of what you are speaking.

2. This happens as the Holy Spirit prays through you: 1. about things you may not know about or 2. may not know how to pray about.


“Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God” Rom.8:27


1. The Holy Spirit was sent to be our Helper.

2. When you pray in tongues, what actually happens is that:a) the Holy Spirit searches your

heartb) and prays through you the

perfect will of God (Romans 8:26-27


1 Corinthians 14:2 (AMP)2 “ For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God, for no one understands or catches his meaning, because in the [Holy] Spirit he utters secret truths and hidden things [not obvious to the understanding].”


You utter the secret truths and hidden things which are not obvious to the understanding of your mind.


1. To pray in tongues, you need to realize that speaking with an unknown tongue is the voice of your spirit.

2. Speaking in a known tongue is the voice of the human mind (unless one of the vocal gifts of the nine gifts of the Spirit is in operation).

3. The Holy Spirit will give you utterance, the same as your mind gives you thoughts to speak.1. You can speak at will in the Holy Spirit … you do not have to be cranked up!!


Acts 2:4 (KJV)4 “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”


To speak in tongues, you must operate with the Holy Spirit.


The Apostle Paul said in I Corinthians 14:14, “For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit [by the Holy Spirit within me] prays, but my mind is unproductive…” (The Amplified Bible).

Call To Christ

“Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” Acts 2:38, ASV.

Call To Be Filed with The Holy Spirit
